I know I'm not alone on here being hungry for more new releases as they appear, not just vinyl only stuff as there's a lot of good things recent and imminent cd / mp3 only... but hard to keep up when also looking back 50 years or so all the time being addicted to vinyl!

The "new vinyl releases" thread is still running of course and has been brilliant, but thought I'd give this a go for a general new soul release thread covering CD and MP3 only things with occasional cool official new videos thrown in.

With many new tracks are launched and available on MP3 months before then later being available on vinyl (eg the great new Soul Junction 45 by The Dynamic Sounds Orchestra), I'd love to hear more if anyone wants to use this thread to share them.

I'll start with official vid and great track from imminent new Saun & Starr album due out from Daptone records this May and also what I think is equally brilliant soul and a great vid by relatively new Houston outfit that Brian Goucher out me onto earlier this year..The Suffers and their superb 4 track ep "Make some room".

Cheers and thanks for the ride so far, Steve

I think we're in the middle of a new great age for genuine soul music.  There's loads coming from the USA and healthy artist growth across the world - Sweden, Australia, UK, it's all welcome.    I'm b

A few more recent great contemporary dance soul selections:

Myles Sanko - Forever Dreaming

(one of the best albums of recent years, every song is wonderful and seems to have been recorded live in the studio)

Robin McKelle & The Flytones - Baby You're The Best

Leon Bridges - Better Man

The Revelations - Why When The Love Is Gone (yes the old soul hit)

Jo Stance - Hey Girl

(in case anyone missed it a couple of years ago)

All of these carry the original Northern Soul soul sound naturally into this time.

cheers

Mark

Can't get enough of Leon Bridges at the moment! Gutted his last show was sold out hope to catch him soon!

Apologies if already mentioned, but this is worth a punt for some on here......no vinyl which might limit it's appeal, but CD at Soulbrother or D/L at the usual outlets.

Some great funky, rhythmic stuff on here......

I'm going to wear this CD out so I've ripped it iimmediately to put on the iPod!! :-)

Cheers,

Mark R

That'd be nice on a piece of vinyl.

I've been talking to him about that very thing, and making some enquiries.........somebody needs to put that out on wax mate!!

Cheers,

Mark

Cheers for re-igniting the thread! Looking forward to this landing in a fortnight. Timmion records do it again, 2nd single from the forthcoming album by the brilliant Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators.

Great new 'Soul Shine' compilation of 2015 dance soul from Expansion is now out and contains some selections from the thread with others.

Agreed. I think it's the best compilation they've released in years.

Here it is.And terrific it sure is. Jill in great voice. She really is one heck of a singer.

The album's all good, but this is the standout track. Sounds like she's been listening to some Sharon Jones!

That "Coming To You" track is indeed rather good     ...    would be great too if Warner/Atlantic were to release it on 7"  vinyl but little chance of that happening one would think ...

Absolutely love this.

Outstanding modern soul music, brilliantly delivered by a very good singer. The back ups and piano are just top notch too.

Liking this new vid by The Jack Moves. Lovely ballad. Video features The Northern Souleros familia (Souleros Ball Revue). You might see some familiar faces if you ever dealt with this bunch of hardcore sweet soul collectors...

Fantastic video, great insight into the scene and culture, love it, my beat up Focus with only 3 wheel trims wouldn't cut it though

LOL!!

Tony Momrelle's new album is out today, more of a classic Stevie Wonder influenced pop-soul sound than his earlier soulful house styled tracks.    Soul Lounge 12 also out today which is always worth picking up for the exclusive remixes and to try any albums or artists new to you.  The Kwabs album is finally out too and getting popular attention.
