Evening folks!

For anyone attending the already legendary London Bridge RnB Allnighter this Friday 8th December there are good news!

Find it's too cold waiting outside the doors, over-excited and almost wetting your pants with anticipation of what is to come? Want to go to an allnighter for only £5?

Come to Jacks, where the actual allnighter is held!

In the room next door, myself and special guest MichaelJ, will be spinning 60's Soul, RnB, Ska, Jazz etc, the broader spectrum for your warming up pleasure.

We open at 8, go on until 10 maybe later then it's moving on into the main room when it opens!

So for a measly £5 you will have access not only to the warm up do, but also the main event! Isn't that nice?

It's short notice but we just got the go-ahead.

See you all on Friday.

Will be absolutely brilliant for sure!

Marcus

Oh Yess !!

over the moon to get the go ahead for this

here's the address & information on the niter (same venue)

including a printable map

Am i going soft here Andy, but is Makce poachin` yer` customers, looks out of order to me blink.gif pay in they`re do,get in yours for nothing, cheaper :o or are they the same do? :P

:D

Don't worry Ken

there's a methodist

in my maddness

although my own week-end biological clock is set to

niters only,

lots of people that matter to me

(inc.sisters,cousins & old mates)

think that 10pm is already "late"

(think it's something to do with the

jumpy,shouty,yelly things they call

"children"

:P )

so this should give those with a

biological clock that's set to "responsable early-bird"

some feasible deniability

-ie

they can tell themselves;

"i'm only going to the warm-up,

I'll get up early next day to put up

the Barbie doll house shelves,

& get the Guinea pig declawed

at the vet"

any way,

once our early bird mates are there......

who knows..

maybe they'll stick around for a while longer

:)

seriously:

Marcus can do a great set ,

knows how to join the dots

between R&B,Soul & other mod

stuff.

...anyone that made it to the

dos we used to put on in a

Morrocan "Casbah" in

Camden Town a few years back

will know he is a perfect host,

with a great sense of fun.

last but not least,

-being a bit of an early-bird means

he also has a good memory of

peoples names

-people of late biological clocks & early birds all welcome !

smile.gif ! cool.gif:lol: <_< cool.gif

Do I hear right??

Is it a bit of a birthday celebration as well??

now, should just about have enough time to get the children declawed and the guinea pig can put up the shelves in the Barbie house.

This should then enable me to be a greedy guts and go to the warm up AND the niter (which have thoughtfully been arranged in the same venue)

Win - Win if I ever saw it!

Make it so

you've got it !!

:)

p.s.

I like the evolutionary theory as to why

there are night owls & early birds...

every human population has a small percentage

who have "insomniac" tendencies,

this apparently goes back to our shared past

in the Savannah where every tribe needed

someone to keep an eye on the fire to

ward off predators.

-great excuse,

ain't it ?

tongue.gif

(between you & me,

I suspect the present day ratio of insomniacs

maybe a bit in excess of requirements

for warding off beasties of the night  )

Do I hear right??

Win - Win if I ever saw it!

Make it so

here's to the beasties of the night !!!

I very much sit in the Night Owl camp. :)

In fact, I have managed to train the pupils of my eyes to expand between the hours of 12.00am until first light to ensure maximum visability to spot said predators and beasties.

Dont worry, you'll all be safe!

I've merged the warm up with the main nighter thread, as they are one and the same really, left it to get a bit of exposure, thoguth best both in the same place :)

Leaving this neck of the woods around 7.30 so should get there about half nine

Mr Lightweight signing in as it's 4.15 and I'm back from the allnnighter. Unfortunately got to work today and then off to the 100 club tonight as well. Anyway, a big TA to Andy and Tony for organising this. A great night with great musical variations from all djs and an especially 'up for it' crowd. Superb, can't wait for the next one on the 29th.

Just got in and I'm still buzzin.... top Top Night.... I thought everyone played a blinder. All the other dj's were on their game. Nice one. Must admit I was a bit apprehensive that you might have been a bit ambitious with such a big venue Andy - bur fair play man you pulled it off... Well done mate big respect to you. A very decent sized up for it and open minded crowd. This is only gonna get even better as it gets established... You should be well chuffed fella.

I agree, a really great crowd and excellent music. I reluctantly left early with Kenny as I'm trying to turn my clock back to "conventional hours" so I don't turn up for my new job at 2pm on Monday whistling.gif I could always invest in a pair of glasses with stick on eyes to get me through the morning, and just nod a lot.

Anyway, top night, well done Andy. Like Rowly, I was wondering whether the venue would be a little large but it was pergect. Unfortunately I can't make the next one as I have my night in Colchester on 29th. Will most definately be at the one after though. :shhh:

Hi mate yes was advertised as R&B......which it was most of the night, but few other bits thrown into the mix, which IMO give it a good music policy, basicly Andy said we're free to play what we want, i would say it was 80% R&B and 20% gritty/uptempo soul which the crowd seemed to love and the dancefloor was buzzing all night, to be honest i think there would have been a bit too much R&B for you but you never know thumbsup.gif

i think you'll find that too much R&B is an impossibility Baz! tongue.gif

about £15.

HB Barnum label i think

Really?

I know there is another by him on Ray Star that is not as good, but didn't realise 'One of these days' was as cheap as that?

Never seen it listed or in any boxes up this way...is it a common tune down south then?

Yep a massive big thanks to all the DJ's for a Monster first night and to Johnny G for a perfect sound system and for fixing the gremlins in the light show (Big Panic!).

I got trapped on the door for 90% of the night but amazed every time I visited the main room for the atmospheric buz from all who attended.
