Posted August 8, 20195 yr This time around going for a 'brother' themed 'version' poll a classic song thats been done by two brothers, whats your take... Billy Butler - Right Track Jerry Butler - The Right Track the question being which brothers version do you prefer nowadays... ?
August 8, 20195 yr There's only one definitive version. Billy Butlers is the one and only as far as I'm concerned. NO comparison, and NO arguments! One of THE all-time classics, spanning the Wheel, Torch, Casino, and a score of other wonderful places. To those of us of a certain vintage, it brings back memories by the thousands. August 9, 20195 yr Never heard the Jerry Butler version before and I like it. What a voice! Not sure if it's better though.
August 9, 20195 yr Just love Billy Butlers version as it is a Classic. But today Jerry Butler Tips It for me, Why? as Mal C says, It's refreshing and i think so right for todays Soul Scene, as never really had the exposure of Billys version and a completely different feel, musically, vocally and production wise, and oh yes, It's Cool As Ice!

As I said, "NO comparison, NO argument". And no matter how much I love just about everything the guy ever did, Jerrys version can be as fresh as fresh can be but it still can't hold a candle to Billys, sorry!
August 9, 20195 yr They should have Both got into the studio and recorded a Duet Version of it, Now THAT would have been interesting! 😯 Edited August 9, 20195 yr by Rick Scott missed word out
August 12, 20195 yr Jerry is great, but it's the first time hearing for me also? How is that possible? Denise LaSalle? Also new to me. I've led a sheltered top 500 life I think:( Ed

August 13, 20195 yr Billy's version is a classic, no doubt about it, but I think I'd rather listen to Jerry's version these days.
