This isnt a name and shame effort, and i do agree with “pay what you think” attitude, however i also think dealers have a responsibility to be fair!

so this 45 in question….as are many 45’s like this now!

1000 quid …really?

Odd that the dealer makes a big play of it being a demo, I am thinking that the issue is rarer

  • its 500 quid on demo 650 on the issue.. anybody paying anymore needs to give their head a wobble

  • Even the issue that turns up maybe  once in 50 sales of the demo is only ever around 600 quid isnt !

From a dealer?

when items sell on auction for crazy amounts that is understandable, and the dealer has nothing to do with that! And someone selling a record on a private sale on here or behind closed doors is what it is too! But id like to think a dealer, especially those whom have been around from word dot to set a more realistic bar! This record in particular, for example if the going rate amongst collectors and djs is typically 500 quid,i would expect to see ANY dealer set sale it maybe 600 quid for there business efforts……but not pick a ludicrous  figure like 1k out of the  air! Its an insult to the regular buyer! I mean why stop at 1k,why not 2k for it and hope a d**k head pays it 😂

There were loads popping up for sale about a year ago around £450.....i know as i bought one,

Yeah, it was £450 12 months ago when I looked. Massive tune at These Old Shoes 😃

And isn't one of those that have never appeared on a CD? Not to my knowledge anyway.

Couldn’t agree more!

Two on Discogs for £1300 and £1525 .

Long may it continue , my copy of this along with my Carol Anderson on Whip and a bunch of Drizabones are looking even sweeter these days ...

Is this the same dealer that keeps putting white label copies of Bob Sinclair - Tribute on eBay for £100 stating their the last copies only to relist when sold.

I recently saw this seller listing £1000 a £300-£400 deep funk record

Sorry, bullshit. Just checked Discogs. Latest confirmed sale was $700. Promo.

It's on the Top Dog Soul Club CD Volume 2. Listed on Discogs so presuming it's legit? https://www.discogs.com/release/17242414-Various-Top-Dog-Soul-Club-Stafford-Top-Of-The-World-Volume-2
