Lets make a note of northern/modern soul 45s that have achieved 10k plus in recent years,either by auction or set sale,or documented any other way....maybe keep it as £s for simplicity.

And where possible include a date.

Was informed that Antellects sold for £17000 last year. Also Salvadors original pressing before the masterplate was dropped causing the dimples in the later pressings sold for £11000 2 /3 years ago (seller told me)

Would like to add the following comment.

As we get older a lot of people get spare income as they progress up the management ladder etc. Finished paying for mortgage etc. Children left home.

And if they see something that they want they will pay/bid over the normal price because they couldn't afford it the first time round.

This happens to anything collectable.

Music, Records of many genre, art, fashion ie old trainers etc.

Old cars etc. Ie Escort Cosworths.

The more spare income there is the higher the prices paid.

It's only a thought !!

i have bought hundreds more records than I did in 1980/1988

Here's the clip from the Kev Roberts and Richard Searling Sunset Radio Show from around '91 where they're discussing the first few 45s to break the £1000.00 barrier , seems like a lifetime ago as it sometimes seems that everything's worth a grand these days ...

There is also some money to lose. £1500 for Danny Moore... you can now get it for £150 at the very most...

Getting lumbered with a £1,000 tune when a box full turn up was one thing.

Getting lumbered with a £25,000 tune after playing Billy Big-b*****ks and stumping up £100,000 for it was one of the more mind-numbingly stupid episodes the scene has ever witnessed ...

And for the scribbled on copy to boot ...

I have it on good authority he paid £37k for it, certainly not the 100k mentioned. Despite being up for sale for months I believe it hasn't yet sold and I doubt it ever will at the asking price.

I can’t think of anything positive for the scene when somebody pays 37k what ever crazy figure it was.
