Supercorsa
Which label was this first issued on Lakeside or Candle Lite? I've got a copy on Lakeside, but just something that puzzles me . Thanks. Link to comment Social source share

boba
How many acts did this song ? Just Maurice Jackson and later Leroy Hutson. The backing group on Lucky Fellow is the Contributors of Soul + Emmett Garner of the Trends. The female singers are Donny Hathaway's and Leroy Hutson's wives. Maurice Jackson was in the independents, I thought the version on the LP was just a rerelease of his record, is it a different version? Thanks. Guest Adrian
Pretty sure the Independents version is the same as the released Maurice Jackson version. Link to comment Social source share
Guest Adam G
Major Harris does a great track called "Lucky fellow" which gives tune wise more than a nod at the independants version. Adam Link to comment Social source share

Harrogatesoul
You'll notice that this version has strings in place of the almost operatic female wailing on the ' 45 version , I think this version is probably better , great song anyway .Best ,Eddie Sublime version - One Of Those 'Achingly soulful' records.
