Never thought it would go for this kind of money!! Although Richard Searling used to play it in his spot. Ahead of his time with things like this!

December 5, 200717 yr Tiares - Let's Be Lovers c/w I'll Never Forget You - Leona £109 Can't believe that, nice looking label but, dreadful record
December 5, 200717 yr Looking at those prices Chubby Checker has to be the bargain of the century Regards Paul
December 5, 200717 yr Kim Weston - I'm Still Loving You - Tamla Motown £405,why was this so much ££££ a uk red/white demo is not worth that much.
December 5, 200717 yr Can't believe the Martha Starr price - blimey !! Best ,Eddie Me neither! Used to be a £2 cheapie which was in everyone's box! Ian D
December 5, 200717 yr Me neither! Used to be a £2 cheapie which was in everyone's box! Ian Dhello ian and all,was this a uk red/white demo ????? did not go on jms site. ps-what does this make my kim weston, rock me a little while,mint-,uk tme 2015 worth?? i suppose the cute answer is to put it on jms auction and find out.
December 6, 200717 yr £878 for 7 Miles Per Hour Band, bought mine from Soul Bowl for £5 in the early 80's. Never thought it would go for this kind of money!! Although Richard Searling used to play it in his spot. Ahead of his time with things like this! Legit represses are still available for around $9. I'll never understand collectors I'm afraid. All I want is what's hidden in the grooves.
December 6, 200717 yr Me neither! Used to be a £2 cheapie which was in everyone's box! Ian D I hate it when people say that Still, 1200+ does seem a lot. Out of interest, what was an expensive record when Martha Starr was 2 quid and what was the price? (Maybe a new thread?)
December 6, 200717 yr Kim Weston - I'm Still Loving You - Tamla Motown £405,why was this so much ££££ a uk red/white demo is not worth that much. That is one of the rarer red and white demos to be honest.
December 6, 200717 yr Nobody think the Darrell Banks is expensive ? I thought it a 100pounder ? Mind you only paid 30p i think it was,..... from cheapo cheapos yet again
December 6, 200717 yr I hate it when people say that Still, 1200+ does seem a lot. Out of interest, what was an expensive record when Martha Starr was 2 quid and what was the price? (Maybe a new thread?) Paul, You shouldn't hate it, because he's talking total Bollox. "Love is the only solution" has never been a £2.00 45 or around in everybody box. I consider it easily the rarest Thelma 45. Maybe Ian was thinking of "No Part Time Love" which was a cheapie and in everyone's sales box and lists for many years, now disapperaring. But to say that about "Love is the only solution" is quite frankly so very wrong.
December 6, 200717 yr Its what people are prepared to pay!..............for something that just does not come up for sale unless theres a Z in the month... if you really want it and can afford to pay more than its worth then go for it! And they do......every day!....thats part of what makes the scene unique.

But to say that about "Love is the only solution" is quite frankly so very wrong. John When Keith Rylatt sold his collection in the mid 80's he had all the Thelmas, Love was the most expensive at £7 all the rest were 2-5 me and andy Spencer didnt half have an argumnet over it but i got in first
December 6, 200717 yr I do like to balance out the 'JM auction' threads with what i consider to be a bargain and this one's no different! Wendell Watts at £186 is much lower than most dealers will have it for set sale and in my opinion is a bit of a bargain Cheers Steve
December 6, 200717 yr That is one of the rarer red and white demos to be honest.hello pete,i presume this was a red/white demo???
December 6, 200717 yr hello pete,i presume this was a red/white demo??? Didn't see it but think it says R&W...

December 6, 200717 yr Me neither! Used to be a £2 cheapie which was in everyone's box! Ian D The Martha Star on Thelma that was cheap, was "No Part Time Love For Me". It is a great record and Soul Bowl had them for a while on the weekly list. "Love is the Only Solution" was hardly ever available, unless you where very lucky! "I'm Lonely"on the flip is so good, that you get two for the price of one! Very similar to "Sweet Lies"- Emanuel Laskey - Thelma.

Ian Cunliffe
December 6, 200717 yr oh pooh, i forgot the Oracles was up And I was going to bid £501 on chubby checker
December 7, 200717 yr Nobody think the Darrell Banks is expensive ? I thought it a 100pounder ? Mind you only paid 30p i think it was,..... from cheapo cheapos yet again I sold a spare issue via John to a second bidder a couple of years ago for £180 less commision Dave so not surprised the demo reached this, especially with Xmas approaching.
December 7, 200717 yr I sold a spare issue via John to a second bidder a couple of years ago for £180 less commision Dave so not surprised the demo reached this, especially with Xmas approaching. I don't rate it at half that. No UK Stax record is worth more than £75.
December 7, 200717 yr I don't rate it at half that. No UK Stax record is worth more than £75. I did very well then!
December 7, 200717 yr I did very well then! I think you did! It's crazy to think a Stax record sells for more than £30 to be honest. Is the Darrell Banks record rarer than Sly Girl on the blue Stax? I don't think it is, yet that goes for £25 tops.
December 7, 200717 yr Actually I think it may well be. There were always a lot of copies of the Stax sky blues in and around London markets up to the 80s and all new unplayed. Never saw the same kind of thing with EMI Stax though.
