  10. Always a great mix of music at the Ritz, New York Disco from the likes of Starship Orchestra, Aquarian Dream and Crown Heights, Jazzy with LL Smith, Chic Corea Manfredo Fest and 70s Tyrone Davis, Garland Green Millie Jackson and top notch Northern George Blackwell. Robby Lawson etc. Really Looking forward to it (how about Mr Ts record bar?) (no Colin Curtis)

  15. The girl across the street side is about 4mins+ (Tom Moulton remix?) yet states 2mins30secsw on the lable. The try my love side has the same dead ending as the cd
  16. Long 3.29 and short 2.34 Great Gary Glenn penned pop disco, I'm sure Colin Curtis used to play the LF version but the mix I'm thinking of had some wild horns in it.
  17. Loads on ebay at the moment look darn similar to the 2002 stock more found perhaps? The sound sample of GATS is the remixed cd version at 4:10 yet the lable shows 2:30 curious!!
  18. newbeats, frankie valli, beach boys, johnny johnson and chart motown played at the youthclubs started me off onto northern soul
  19. The MGM reissue was styrene I'm sure that all the Verve copies were vinyl ranging from very thick and heavy to quite thin and flimsy the latter being a later (re) issue Hope this helps
  20. You're absolutely correct there. The Nicholas brothers are the focal point of that style because they seem to be the only ones recorded. Backdrops don't seem that far removed from Cossack dancing, when did Fiddler on the Roof come out? Trends now seem to be moving towards the Hokey Cokey and Greek line dancing.
  21. I guess the style of dancing came from the performances of Jackie Wilson,James Brown and the acrobatic styles of the Mills Brothers. Dancing solo that's probably connected to the male mating ritual(lol)
