Open your ears and your minds
I see this Willie Hutch penned stormer has begun to appear on you tube which will help people get behind it (or its the kiss of death) don't overlook their other offerings for the label p.s. watch your speakers if playing out it's a very bassy mix

Open your ears and your minds
You should be able to pick this up for less than £30 Richard Parker wrote for the Brunswick/Dakar stable put saxphonist Gene Barge and Willie Henderson into the mix and you've got a crackin' little Chicago crossover dancer

I think you'd be hard pushed to find a 'clean' copy of Ila Vann these days. In the 70s not everyone had the standard of equipment that's the norm nowadays venue decks and home players were very harsh on styrene 45s .

The Mortimer & Whitehouse playlist?
- Doris Badie
- Gregory porter
His reading of this 'classic' may leave a few 'purists' to deny your statement- P.P.Arnold, which is rarer ?
could be the album only killer 'Something Beautiful Happened'- La Jay Alexander
wanted Say So/You've Got All The Aces Black Gold- Oldies Unlimited, Telford -- TK haul.
my Jerry Washington Don't Waste my Time came out of a soul pack could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw it priced at £700 (it had long since gone in trades for jazz albums)- Top LPs
- Alfie Davison - Love Is A Serious Business on Minerva
Minerva is not a re-recording of the 7" its just that the strings are a little lower in the mix making the bass stand out , this is also true of the Brookside 12"- Act III Today I Want To Stay Inside Harley
Act III Today I Want To Stay Inside Harley vg+ or better pm me Thanks John- Spoken Intro ? R.Dean,
Almost 2 minutes of spoken intro (or rap as it was called then) I think we all missed out on this storming dancer back then. I found out a few years later that some demo copies didn't have the rap intro- Bruce Springsteen does Frank Wilson, give me strength!
Bleedin' Redneck- JMAuction - 03/08/2022 - Results!
Speechless ......I'll get my coat- Sweet Daddy Floyd - Just cant help myself - Super star
nice alt version I only became aware of a couple of weeks ago- What was the cheapest record you regularly DJ'd with in 2016?
G C Cameron definitely got a Curtis Mayfield vibe going on there.- Basement Soul
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182403312889?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I posted it as a subject rather than a particular record. Here's another one going under the heading 'Basement Soul' have we got a new genre to go alongside Crossover, Beat Ballad, Stepper,60s Soul etc.etc. I for one like that particular record (althought the b side) The style I think is folky and bluesy and reminds me of Penny and The Quarters are there more like this out there. ps Didn't realise Flash McKinney was that rare a record.- Basement Soul
has a new genre appeared https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351941868880?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT kind of a folky blues ?- Reductions "all need to go this year" be quick
The Girls what a bargain!!- Favourite Christmas soul record
Loved this ever since I heard Tony Blackburn play it in the early seventies- So how many dj on here with bootlegs and re-issue vinyl?
Any Tom Dick or Harry could faithfully reproduce that playlist all have been booted (except You Want It You Got It which was played from an album by Donald Austin, and sunk into obscurity perhaps because it was a more sophisticated sound than the others on the list),- who is backing him?
This is Godoys solo outing on Revue I'll hazard a guess thats its the Exits on the backing vocals- GENE ANDERSON
