  3. Something a little different to the usual type of event, but it will be a great way to spend an afternoon. Plus there's a soul night a mile up the road in Pemberton if you fancy making a day / evening of it! Wigan Casino: its influence, its legacy, and everything that followed. Wigan Casino is arguably the best known and most talked about Northern Soul all-nighter. Whether you attended or not, the iconic venue has earned its place in Northern Soul history. At this unique event, join original DJs Richard Searling (via audio), Gary Rushbrook, and Ian Wills, along with highly respected stalwarts Tim Ashibende, and Tim Brown for a question-and-answer panel event that will discuss the part Wigan Casino played on the soul scene, the myths, the truths, as well as highlighting the venues that followed. Chaired by Tim Brown, expect lively conversation, explosive stories, and an emotional look back at some of the amazing venues that we have been treated to over the last 50 years. We will look at the incredible records that were discovered, the DJs that played them, and the memories that were made. When? Saturday 30th September, 3-4.30pm Where? 4. It's the only downside of having a dog, or any pet. You go into it with the understanding that when the time comes, you will suffer so they don't have to. I lost my Bettsy under similar circumstances. She was diagnosed with protein losing enteropathy, for which there is no cure. I tried everything I could to manage the condition, but in the end it took over. There came the day where she told me it was time, and I did what was best for her. I feel your pain Wilxy, and everyone, it's just the worst. Words are just that, but I can now sit here and think of the joy and smile. A bond with a pet is a unique and very special thing. Sending love x
  5. Happy birthday Martyn
  6. Hey Bob, nooooo nothing like that haha. Really looking forward to Saturday, will be so nice to see everyone and there will be plenty of stories told and memories shared no doubt x
  7. Really looking forward to a great day and night remembering our friend Karl. Had some fantastic nights with Karl and Paul when we ran the back room at Lowton. Couldn't have had more fun than when we all went to Seattle and I know that's how he would like to be remembered - fab tunes, vimto 😂 and lots of laughs, let's recreate that on Saturday 🥰
  8. Feels like everytime I post these days it's with sorrow. Each time I saw Tim we talked about the all dayers in Coventry, or 'mega' as he called them. So sad x
  9. Oh no, that's such sad news xxx

  18. Very sad news. I'm going to miss being sat at my desk only to get a call saying Hedley was downstairs at reception. Always fun to be greeted with his latest escapades and adventures and almost never walked back to my office without sponsoring him. He will be missed by many xxx
  19. This is such sad news, he will be missed by so many xx

  22. I used to think that too and they will of course eat them. The lovely lady at Hedgehog Cabin has opened my eyes to the world of hogs. She has loads of info on her website with regards feeding them etc. Not sure if links are permitted but a quick Google will bring her up. It's always a tricky balance regarding feeding due to other species pulling up at the buffet, and of course effort, but so worthwhile as they are in real danger. You're very lucky to have them x
  23. Slugs are not the best for hogs, they will eat them though if they are starving. Cat or dog food is great, definitely no mealworms or bird seed as they make them really sick. You are very lucky to have these endangered sweethearts in your garden. If you can put out fresh water and cat / dog food every night (dry kitten biscuits is best, or anything that lists meat first as that means the highest ingredient is protein) you will literally be a life saver.
  24. Jon was a huge part of my early years on the scene, where it all began for me. Such sad news x
