Really looking forward to the October "Leeds Central" All-Dayer and to be amongst like minded "Soulies".Dancing to the original top soul sounds that we're played at The Torch, Blackpool Mecca,VaVas,Pendulum, Twisted wheel and here the "Leeds Central Soul club"and many more. What a fantastic turnout for the Soul Tribute to Tommy Hunt in his own local public house, Ian(Geordie)Johnson kicked off with a presentation of Tommy's life. Then the music started, by now the place was pretty full and from start to finish the DJ's played a brilliant selection of classic soul, Northern Soul and Motown keeping the dancefloor full throughout the event. A massive thanks to Little Av and Ian for organising the event, Julie and her staff and the DJ's Ian(Geordie) Johnson,Little Av,John Brittan and Fred Ward and everyone who came,making it a truly soulful day.

Really looking forward to getting behind the decks again and spinning a few sounds and being amongst top fellow DJ's and of course you the "Soulies"Creating that unique "Central" atmosphere that over the years has made it famous for being one of the top Northern Soul venues in the UK.In the same basement venue that has been going for over the last 50 years. R.I.P. Tommy was a pleasure to have met you on numerous occasions Fred & Jacque ward HIs Book Titled Only Human my Soulful life is a good read which is all about Tommy's Life.

Well what a turnout for Dave! We sent him off in style, with tributes spoken by Ginger Taylor at the service and Nigel Grice at the event after. Dave you will always be in our hearts and thoughts R.I.P. our friend.

Devastating news to hear of Dave passing we are in shock. Dave a very good friend and great guy, I'll miss my weekly chats with him. Our thoughts go out to Dave's family. RIP DAVE Fred & Jacque Ward.

I knew a Phil Lynsky who used to frequent Wakefield Intercon circa late 70's early 80's.Also another Phil was a close friend of his Phil Riley also of Wakefield. At the time I wasn't aware of him compiling soul music lists. He was a really nice guy. sad to hear of him passing. Fred Ward, an old Huddersfield "Soulie" R.I.P.Phil.

I Remember the Dancette, as we used to play and dance to records at knutsford services on our way to the torch and also got kicked out. Regards Fred.

A slump of soul sales in the 70's??? I think you are very wrong, more like there was an upsurge of soul in the 70's lots of records were breaking, were probably the best Northern soul years.
