Think Ted is on about "I'm So In Love" on Atac by GINO Washington.
  2. Vaguely remember the name Johnny Moore, didn't know his though. The other shop I was thinking of was at the end of Chapel Walk just below the Rutland pub and the nightclub which had several name. O'Neill's across the street, can't remember what it was called back then.
  3. I've some of the sleeves upstairs, they say on them - "Cann - The Music Man" Chapel Walk, Fargate, Sheffield 1.
  4. I would have thought somewhere between £1000 and £1500 but then again it rarely comes up for sale and if someone wants it badly it could go for more, always been a popular track and in demand, always fills the dance floor.
  5. Here's the topic with the Soussan sales list from July 1976, Eddie Daniels at the bottom for a fiver....
  6. ]' Eddie Daniels was on a list from Soussan from 1975 or '76, the list was posted on Soul Source other week. Soussan also booted it, excellent boot, hard to tell the difference when first looking. It had brief plays at the Casino, dunno by who for sure. Hopkins Brothers, Richard has already confirmed he didn't have it and if it had been played at Casino I reckon it would have been said so by now. Ady Croasdell had a copy years and filed which he's just sold Mick H, so has Andy Dyson. Ian Wright got a copy couple of years ago and within weeks so did Butch. I guess it didn't get spins some years ago was because it didn't feel right for the scene at the time which was more retro with all the returnees wanting what they had when they left the seen when Wigan closed and loads of R&B being spun, Andy Dyson said as much himself that it was't right for the scene at the time.
  7. There's a Soussan list on here, posted recently, from mid 70's with Eddie Daniels on it. Soussan also booted it. I'd still be very surprised if HB played at Wigan.
  8. Thanks Bob, appreciated.
  9. You can also hear the HB on the Andy Dyson podcast on my web site, link below in my signature. Its had spins now for good two or three years and that is first mention of it being a Wigan spin. Don't doubt collectors known about it, Andy and Ady had a copy years. I too find it hard to believe it being played at Wigan or anywhere else till being played in recent years.
  10. The record shop closed years ago, the clothes shop was few shops down if I remember rightly. Back to Chesterfield, I can remember Mr Six Togs, up the side road at end of post office. Also the one on the corner of where Fascinstion was and the alley that went up to the Spire, used to go down steel spiral staircase. Can't remember what it sold though.
  11. Rod will tell you how many he and Dave Withers found initially. Not sure if he said they left some behind.
  12. In the grand scheme of things it is only a small collecting scene even though worldwide but we do have a rough guesstimate of what has been sold. We know there was around 11 in the find, JM says so himself, we know there's been roughly 16 or so through ebay, some will no doubt be the same copy being sold on, we know there were a few more found and sold individually therefore we have a rough ball park figure of what is known about on this collecting scene. The internet has opened up this scene worldwide and we are in touch with the collectors from around the world. The figure we know about for records is good enough for most of us, collectors, DJ's and dealers and I doubt anyone gives a flying f*ck about empirical evidence when parting with hard earned cash. People do their homework when doing so and if they don't then more fool them. Of course we don't know the exact figure and no one is saying otherwise, why complicate things more than they need complicating? The same word is used in other areas of collecting, antiques etc as well.
  13. If you don't mind me asking can I ask how much it sold for? It's always nice to know what rare records sell for, especially cash and not auction.

  15. just done the google map thing and by foot half a mile, by car 1.2 miles.
  16. Original.... Reissue or has been said elsewhere Boot.... Jamaican address.........
  17. Had a quick search and can't find said topic Kev...I'm supposed to be packing as away for a few days in the Lakes so don't have time for thorough search.
  18. says in the comments that his mum filmed it and his dad was in the dance comp. Nice bit of footage.
  19. be nice if they get the film converted properly and cut the modern day bit from it
  20. that's why we use the word "known"
  21. without checking think most of the JD's been though are from different sellers? There e was 11 in the West Coast find JM involved with... post 47 think John Pugh says there are 16 copies of JD - NB on popsike and cause of the price I doubt popsike missed many if any sales so that still makes it around 30 or so known copies. How many copies does there have to be to constitute rare.
  22. I didn't say you did, you said it isn't that rare anymore. The fact is it is still a rare record. There are records more common than this that fetch more yet I don't see the same comments applied to those.
  23. There was a shop for clobber down I think Chapel Walk but can't remember the name. There was a record shop down there too, I've load of records up stairs from there, some of me dads too, all the old style brown card with coloured edging.
