Yum Yums on ebay
Is this thread more about further boots being pushed onto the market or people being ripped off? I am playing devils advocate here (so go easy), When purchasing anything it is always buyer beware (or seller even) and all down to someones knowledge/lack of. How many on here would quite rightly buy a rarity for a song off e bay if the seller was clueless and didn't realise what he had? Ha, but I am not deceiving anyone I can here you say? Well, say you went into a charity shop and saw a 50 count box of singles with a sign on it saying "to be sold as a job lot only", £20. Whilst plowing through the middle of the road shite you come across a 5k biggy nestled snuggly in the middle. When the little old lady asks you what interested you in the old box of records that had be there years with no one taking the slightest interest in them, do you tell her about the rarity and offer 4 grand for the records or do you mumble something about your missus loving Lonny Donegan and shove a twenty pound note into her hand? I live in hope!

If you had £150
Could do worse than have a good look through the "originals for a fiver" thread that was running on here a while back, some absoloute crackers on there.

Why would Tramp records "hoping that somewhere down the line unsuspecting buyers or wannabee OVO DJs would pay well over the odds for the single?" benefit Tramp records?

There's still sellers on e bay describing these boots as official reissues, I've just sent one a message, if we all send a message, they may get the message?

Best foot forward. Do you have a favourite pair of dancing shoes
M My irreplaceable Y fronts had since the Casino, (30 inch bottoms high waist band, nothing worse than feeling trussed up when shaking a leg), always wear them out to venues, toyed with the idea of giving them a wash but afraid to risk it these days. Certainly been lucky for me always seem to find plenty room on the floor when up dancing, now I think of it I always find plenty when I'm not!

Re-imagining Northern Soul History
Yea i remember it well RW started the rebirth about the same time Richard Keys and Andy Gray invented football. On a serious note would anyone credit the advent of the internet for fueling it?

Tony's Ballroom Headlines 8-11-1988
You look back now at the furore of the time and doesn't it bring a wry smile to your face, was it a case of being easy targets? I don't think there would be a toilet in any half decent sized village public house these days that doesn't have traces of the old Columbian marching powder in them, yet no one mentions it. Is it because it's the drug of choice of the "Establishment", or have the authorities just admitted defeat?

Ungrateful feedback
Surely he should have mentioned getting a no quibble full refund, a confidence filler feedback if ever there was one?

BBC People's History of Pop - Wigan Casino & Northern Soul
Back in the day part of the joy was that it was an underground scene and we were part of the "in crowd". If the majority of the country still think it's all about baggie trousers and Wigan Casino we should rejoice because it's still an underground scene then!
