  1. Check Dave Thorley , I know he had one a few weeks back. Andy
  2. The Hy-tide release is from Alabama. The record was then picked up for release on Ted Jarrets T- Jaye set up which was in Nashville. The Hy- tide copies were hard to come by throughout the eighties and early nineties, however a few more seem to have surfaced in recent years. Lovely piece of music which ever way you own it.
  3. Know what you mean, should have been covered up as Abba!
  4. Yes, Roy hamilton is a good example, however he's way too polished and caberet for me to get worked up about what his vinyl sells for. No I did not miss the point, maybe it would have been better not mentioning any recording lable for the reason I gave, and quoted Belita woods 'magic corner' which has been on ebay all most every other week since time began, yet still goes £50 when trashed.
  5. There is one here, but it's a bit fried bacon
  6. Could not agree more. however I think picking on Rca was probably not a good example. Infact history has proven there are thousands of titles on stock copies on pretty much all the major logos which have eluded collectors for years, Some would argue this head scratcher was more prevelent towards the old dimise of Vinyl in the eighties than at any other. So when you find a copy of Candy Bowmen 'Since i found you' Rca 7", give me a shout. Even finding the Grey & hanks version on a 7" is not a 'next day job' unlike 80% of these of these so called £200 northern records.
  7. Looks like another solid performance by all concerned. Top notch choices. Andy
  8. I did tell you about specksavers, it's' Deep in your love' not heart. Great record. Andy

The copies on Scorpion came out as the Newsound. The copies on Mod- art as the Newsounds , probably a typo at the plant.
  10. The 45 came on Curtom cms0124 with 'Blackberry jam' on the flip. Andy
  11. If looking on the web you will have more luck if you edit out the 'R'. However most on here know who your'e on about.
  12. Given the Detroit connection, the Lenyard 45 imo lives far too much in the shadows of Eddie Parker's 'If you must go'. Great choice.
  13. This gig was a real pleasure to attend. All the Dj's were top notch, mixing true rarities with very common but fantastic soul 45's. Shed load of passion and no ego's from all who attended. Nice one! Andy
  14. From the less obvious I would like to recomend - Jeffrey Dixon & Belinda Elias ' Why can't this love be for real' Jady Orbrey & Bernice ' Let me lay with you tonight' Jed Hard Times( A duet without Question) ' I ask a question' ruby Glenn Gray & Cecily Wallss ' I do believe in love' Sg Bo Kirkland & Ruth Davis 'You're gonna get next to me' Claridge ( Okay it's more than obvious, but i like it) Andy
  15. Top quality group. Two members were in the Glories, Mildred Vaney and Frankie Gearing, Gearing cuting some great deep soul, not only on her beal street LP but also 'Tears on my pillow' for the Bound sound logo in Florida. Lois Reeves was also a member, formerly of Martha reeves and the Vandellas. An excellent choice. Andy
  16. These seem to always be at the top of the pile - Rosco Robinson 'She won't choose me' Gerri Sammy Jones 'Nothing can change this love' Hull Gwen Thames 'The day in the life of a fool Pro -7 Hoagy lands 'Reminisce' Spectrum Samuella Williams 'I'm tired of stealing your love' Tops Tony Troutman 'One way love' Swagger Darnell Pittman 'You hurt me' Dean Lavorn Smith 'Without your love i'll be nothing k.m.c Ernie Clark 'Give me a piece of your love m-odd Jeannie Reynolds 'I dont mess around Washington Lee Fields 'You're breaking my heart Angle 3 Snap prescoit 'Ain't no way Maple George Jackson 'Cold cold love' Public Midnight Magic 'When my love comes down' Drive Authentics 'Have I lost you' Kema Thrillers 'Leading 2 lives with 4 woman Apto Hard Times 'I ask a question' Ruby William bell 'Crying all by myself Stax Ann Sexton 'I'm his wife' SS7 Johnny Copeland 'What is a man without pride' Brown Sugar Irma Thomas 'Somewhere crying' Chess Denise Lasalle 'Married but not to each other Westbound The last five titles you should find for a tener all in, and imo are as good as any I listed prior to that. Many of the tracks can be listened to on Sir shambling's exellent web site. Andy
  17. Derek You mentioned Len Woods and 'i'm in love beeing his only known release, however I had always assumed the Lenny Woods lp on 20th century & the 45 on Excaliber from 88 was the same guy? Andy
  18. Patti Austin ( Iv'e given) all my love to you coral issue vg+ £100 SOLD Lots of light marks, but plays near perfect. The flip ' Why can't we try it again' is superb. George Byrd You better tell her so tangerine demo vg+ £75 SOLD Proper northern soul imo, one of the best on the logo, light marks, plays superb. Ida Sands Start all over again how big vg+ £40 HOLD Perfect bridge of northern/crossover,several light marks, plays superb. 20. Douglas & Lonero 'This time' RCA £300 m- SOLD Very indemand uplifting 70's/ crossover soul from 75. Only on the stock copy and hardly ever comes up. Brad Lundy 'I want to share' LUNDY £400 vg++ SOLD The 1401 issue that many are searching for. Serious piece of uptempo soul. Plays superb. Paypal for payment please. Full refund if not satisfied. Cheers Andy
  21. Elois Scott 'Broadway love' Carol G £275 SOLD Some light marks, but only audible in the odd places vg+. plays great. Haunting and unique 45 on this Betty Lavette sound alike. Reo Lane 'Give me your love' Bren £400 SOLD Thumping piece of music played over the years by forward thinking djs like Curtis, Thorley etc and hardly ever comes up for sale. Slight scuff, plays vg++ loud and clear. Alice Taylor 'Sounds Ridiculous' Stage Art £200 Some light marks, but plays loud and clear vg++. 2 have 154 want on discogs, probably indemand! Clips available on utube. Full money back if not happy. Paypal for payment please. Cheers Andy
  22. Yes, especially given the fact, unlike Galla he does not sound like Elvis!
  23. Given that we have been treated to the excellent ballads from Beavers, beverly etc, may be the inclusion of Freddie Scotts ' you're so hard to forget' should have been considered, However a top class CD. Andy
  24. A top class release within the genre, with some excellent background info. Nice one. Given the double sided original copies are tough to find, it's a' must buy'. Andy
