whilst googling a few Northern Soul artists came across some information on a broadway musical which opened on the 15th March 1970 https://www.ibdb.com/production.asp?ID=3514 what's interesting is that the singers on the opening night production include Melba Moore, Milt Grayson, Tony Middleton and Ray Pollard...how amazing is that to have all these legends singing in the same theatre!

The first commercially released 12 Inch single was 10 Percent' by Double Exposure on Salsoul. It was appropriately revolutionary for a genre that had just found its own medium.
