  1. Im On My Way has been on the Bay a few times but rarely in good nick! Last one was probably best yet.
  2. Gutted is an understatement. From the early days of the EASC to the present day Tony had entertained us with his droll wit.No more can i say Bugger! Warots turned up. RIP mate. Trev
  3. Every time you met Pete out was his pop in surgery. His suitcase and record sleeves should be in the Hall of Fame.
  4. The thing is i agree with Chalky that it is / was a common tune. However there are far more collecters now worldwide than ever before. If you had it in your collection as opposed to say a hotbox not many people would sell it would they? Hence a rise in price.
  5. Yes Andy. Still covered up. Trying to remember it as he is not giving me much info. This means he had it off me or iv still got it. Is that right Cliffy
  6. Whats the Street People version like please?
  7. Agree with Pete. Not a rare record per se but rarely found in minty condition.
  8. Mine plays fine but are they all faded labels? Never seen one with a decent label yet.
  9. Great night of great music yet again but we have to keep on at Phil Atlee to spin some soon. 10. NO because it inevitably conjures up memories of Pop pap.It has been embarrassing as a term since the early 80,s and the first attempts to be documented. Not least since thousands of us arent from up North.
  11. Bloody amazing. As Mr one trout has said already. How the hell have both tracks by Melba passed me by!!!! I would never have believed it if the soundclips werent here.

  16. Also on yellow for definate and i think i have seen it on the beige/fawn colour as well. Great tune that must have had local success.
  17. Early nineties Cliff Steele and myself perchanced on a pile of Hows in London. £3 a piece but they were mostly badly water damaged as a lot of La Beat, Mary Janes were.Took the best copies but left plenty as they were stuck together.Supposedly originally came from Tim Brown which makes sense because id previously had other Masqueraders like Be happy for me and One more chance from him.
  18. That Robert Parker sounds nice.Got a WD but never seen it on yellow. Trev
  19. Right thinking caps been on and i have three categories of favourites. Some great great choices already boys and girls. Here we go. Fav Motown - Marvellettes, Sophisticated Soul Fav non Motown - Ohio Players,16 Greatest Hits Fav Compilation - Dave Godins Soul Deep on Contempo Trev
  20. Great call above. 1 for a great album. 2 for not going with the obvious. Gonna have to put me thinking cap on.
  21. You may well be right about me taking a break Mike but like i said before and you should know better than most its a SOUL FORUM.Bit lost on you eh!!!! Tricky
  22. A poll on these two.WHY? Thought this was soul source ffs.Sometimes i wonder why i bother when everytime i look on here somebodys championing another piece of pop drivel.I know what replies to expect so with hard hat on i may have to bite the bullet and enter Facebook World. Tricky
  23. When i spotted your want i thought bloody hell never ever seen a WD of that.Of the opinion there isnt but would love to be proved wrong.
  24. What i dont get is the idea if i dont sell now they wont be worth anything later. So what.If you spent too much more fool you and if you bought to sell at a profit you werent in it for the music/scene.I have never bought a record thinking its an asset for the future. Still it is a lot of dosh if i sell now!!!!
  25. Gave it a 1. It was the usual same old crap.Dreadful. Suppose its because i gave up on NORTHERN Soul early on as i soon realised it only meant dance music whether it was soul or pop .Liking Soul enabled me to encompass the whole lovely Black Music spectrum. Also not coming from the M62 corridor or being a miner i obviously didnt meet the criteria.Still like lots of us from Northampton,Wellingborough,Kettering,Corby,Harborough et all it was great fun thumbing it, jumping trains or borrowing cars to go up norf. Lets not forget the other great niters that influenced our scene as well eh.Likes of St Ives,Peterborough,Yate,Stafford, and Clifton Hall to name a few. And please dont get me on BBC Motown when they show Gladys singing a non Motown number. Some chuffin Archive there then!!!!
