Lou Pride Has Gone
Yep, I have to concede on this one.

Lou Pride Has Gone
I know this is a Northern Soul forum, but he recorded quality soul for over 30 years and apart posts about 'Mornin' there's only one mention of his Albatross release let alone his other stuff, shame really.

Lou Pride Has Gone
A quality artist, whatever decade he recorded in.

Odd Lp Inserts/extras ?
The poster in the impressions LP Times Have Changed was a nice touch. The extra promo single in the Bill Brandon LP was a nice surprise also.

Priced Not To Sell
Mine is VG, but plays great. Surely its VG cos it doesn't play that great

What? Am I Missing Something
It is the issue which does command a premium, but I would have thought that its not really an in-demand sound at the moment and that the starting price is more in line with a set sale price, albeit a bit high IMO.

Tommie Young - That's All Part... - Soul Power
I thought they were just label variations. It only seemed recently that anyone has had any interest in this record. The other side is a real cracker and gives Bobby Patterson's version a run for its money.

Ebay Advice
I'm not too sure if ebay will side with the seller if you don't pay. What you can do is pay it via paypal and if the postage is a lot less than a couple of dollarsof the amount you paid, put in an excessive postage claim with ebay/paypal.

Joe Perkins Runaway Slave, Jerry Tiffe Sceptre
The guy with the user name "Henry" on here has one for sale in his Gemm shop, if he's still got it maybe he could lend it to you. Joe Perkins is one of my favourite singers, but sadly I don't have a copy as IMO it's one of his worst recordings and was happy to leave it as a gap in my collection.

Bell Records
At a slight tangent, with Phily Groove releases I've seen: W/D's, standard Red and the Blue labels of releases such as: Delfonics - Ready Or Not and Didn't I Blow Your Mind. I've only seen W/D's of the Coupe De Villes releases so have always assumed they got no further. But for Mary Holmes I've only seen W/D's and the Blue label, does anyone have or seen a standard red release of Mary Holmes - I Need Your Lovin', or was it only pressed at one plant (blue press) due to it not picking up interest, as it must have sold quite well on De Valliant for Philly Groove to give it national distribution.

Charlene & The Soul Serenaders
I said this in one of the previous thread and concur with Gareth. The Paradox release has always been in demand for as long as I can remember although it generally wasn't chased for Can You Win. It might not have commanded the prices it goes for today, but it was still hard to get hold of.

Holy Spirit - Spiritual Soul and Gospel Funk From Shreveport's Jewel Label
Boy thats a new one on me, I thought it was just leased out to Jewel rather than it being pressed on Golden. It's one of the missing numbers in the Golden Discography on Dave Rimmers site.

Holy Spirit - Spiritual Soul and Gospel Funk From Shreveport's Jewel Label
Bugger, all those cheap Jewel Devotional records gone forever....... Its fantastic that a set like this gets to see the light of day, I hope it sells bucket loads.

Sy Hightower - Monarch Lp Test Pressing
I think Rod got it from Ian Dewhirst, so maybe Ian can shed some more light on the subject.

Album Only D.j.'s - Are There Any Out There ?
There are tunes where I prefer the LP (or 12") version better than the 7". Johnny Taylor - Blues In The Night would I be chastised for playing it from the LP instead of the foreign EP. Should CD's be included in this thread too? What about playing Chuck Jackson What's With This Loneliness from CD, would the lynch mob be out even though its the original format? Is it better to play Reginald Garland's Gangster Girl from the CD or LP, or doesn't that count?

Alfreda Brockington
Think the one with the smaller text is a re-issue and these have a "R" at the end of the matrix number.

Lanier & Co I Don't Know
Singles wise Lynn White - Slow & Easy was the first release on Waylo and that was 1984. If it was 81/82, that would make "I Don't Know" before their Larc stuff.

You Are Invited To An Ovo Venue As A Guest Dj You Can Play 12 Records What Are They ?
Sadly, let the dick swinging contest begin. So how many big records can a person show off in one set.
