  1. Why not open it - might be full of Marvin Gaye / Spinners
  2. The missing record is actually Marvin Gaye / Spinners (my mistake in saying Originals the earlier post) Seems it's the same packing error that keeps occuring. I'm sure to offset this, there will be an equal amount of packs with 2 x Marvin and no B. Mcnair surfacing soon. If that has already happened to anyone yet, let us know. Cheers Mick
  3. Might be there's no way to tell, especially if they were packed at a different stage to being numbered. I suspect for every pack with 2 x Barbara McNair, there is a pack with 2 x Originals/Marvin in it - might have to organise a swap centre when the dust settles. Just tried to get a replacement and it's not available anymore, only a refund - Dilema.
  4. It appears the high numbers (1800 +) are the "defective" packs, whereas the low numbers (100+) are all OK. Unfortunately that leaves a whole bunch that are either good or bad
  5. Just received 2 sets today - one set is all correct with the seven different records, but the other set has Marvin Gaye missing and 2 x B McNair. Is it possible to send just the one pack back to Amazon, or do I have to send both packs back and hope the replacements are both correct.? Cheers Mick
  6. But is this the version the opening post is referring to ?- Can you point us in the right direction for this Sany Wynns CD you have, then we can compare etc. Cheers Mick
  7. I think it's the same place in Hanway Street, if so this was "Rocks Off". Remember going in there a few times about 30 years ago and dropping records off for the guy to sell. (Think the chaps name was Stan). Cheers Mick
  8. John, The SOS boot of the Vibrations - Cause You're Mine, had the writing credit down as J. Manship and someone else. Maybe that's what you're thinking of. Cheers Mick
  9. In addition, I always felt that Al Greene was a cross between "Please Let Me In" and "Sweet Sherry" Cheers Mick
  10. This is Robert Spencer - Our Wedding Day Cheers Mick
  11. A similar scenario could have arisen with the Grapevine releases of Diane Renay - "Can't Help Lovin' that Man", and Construction "Hey Little Way Out Girl", both issued as the cover-up artists. I don't know about the former's sales, but I'm sure the latter sold more than a few at the time. If it had made the charts, would Top Of The Pops have searched for archive footage (if they could find any) of the Del Capris and aired it on TV. And just like Lorraine, any band members would have wondered what was going on. Cheers Mick
  12. You're right - it can be heard on the soundclip for the eBay item
  13. Yeah, just tried changed one in turbo lister just to see for myself, and it says £50.00 minimum. That one passed me by
  14. John, are you saying to list on eBay with a minimum bid, the reserve has to be £50 or more ? If so, when the hell did that start ? The last time I had any kind of reserve on anything was a good many years ago, and although there would have been records with higher reserve than that, there would most definately have been much lower reserves on lesser items. Glad I don't do reserves, either start it at what I want for it, or take a chance. Cheers Mick
  15. The vocal is by Jimmy Ruffin - "Shake Hands With A Dreamer" Cheers Mick
  16. That's about right - Initially they would pay 3 or 4 days after the first email. Around September last year, they were about 2 to 3 weeks behind due to (they said) relocating their base, and in recent months that has now been extended to 6 or 8 weeks, as you pointed out. I learned of this last year through Musicstack forums, couldn't get anything from Gemm directly. At present I think they only owe me two payments (possibly only one) as I tend now to use Gemmpay to buy stuff so I can use the money straight away from my account. It is rare that I let the cash be allocated to me, and If I do it is by accident. Although they gave a reason for the initial delay, I have no idea why there is still a delay, a delay that has more than doubled in timescale - must take a long time to move a handful of PC's / servers. Cheers Mick
  17. An upside-down hat, I hope
  18. The whole spindle wouldn't spin - just the record playing underneath, The "Philips" would stay where it was.
  19. There's a great version by Mary Ann Farra & Satin Soul ( ... another Girl). Other side is "Stoned Out Of My Mind", and it's also on Brunswick. It's hard to tell from the spacing of the text on the label, but it could either be Mary Ann Farra or Maryann Farra. Cheers Mick
  20. I generally work on about a quarter, assuming the record plays without skips (odd click would be OK). This is a general thing though, where the record in question isn't irreplaceable. A cracked one or two off would have it's own rules. Cheers Mick
  21. Didn't go there, but maybe the Dore track - You Got A Man On your Hands" ? Cheers Mick
  22. Didn't think Betty Boo was that much. I'm surprised
  23. There you go Julian Yes, unusual at the least. Cheers Mick
  24. I sold one about a year ago for £180 in trades. A few weeks later that very same copy appeared on JM auction site. Surprisingly It went for a about £120, so I consider myself lucky on that one. Cheers Mick
  25. Out again tomorrow (26 Aug) from Juno in the UK, this time on Kerston. The picture cover has exactly the same front but with Kerston logo instead of Cree, back is different, and no idea about the labels. No mention of limited edition this time. Cheers Mick
