  1. Precisions, Take a good look, Hen Mar, PROPER Soul record 👌 Kev
  2. Flip it Jim, never thought I'd say there's a superior version to an Ojays record, but here it is "It won't hurt" Kev
  3. 2nd what Steve says Gilly my man, everything has been put on hold, manufacturing, retail, corperate and commercial, so don't stress lad, we can't wait, but we'll bloody have to 😉 😜 love to you and Nic x
  4. Plenty on Discogs Neil, great album btw
  5. Great stuff Mr Gilbert, like a whole bunch of folk, can't wait, btw, loved your 45 minutes set on mixcloud, great music (as expected) and banter 😀 Kev x
  6. Yep, I was watching Mike, and the thought that was permanently in my head was "shit, this actually happened " The Dramatics involvement was obviously a massive selling point as far as folk on here are concerned, but take that away, its still a great thought provoking, educating, in depth insight into what was actually going down back in the racially charged melting pot of 60s USA Kev
  7. That's a key point, nearly everything is in collections, not much turning up on hunting trips to the States anymore, if you really want summat, you got to persuade the current owner to part, the "going rate" is finished, and has been for ages, as is "books for" . It's worth whatever someone is prepared to go to, forget "the scene" I reckon most people who pay these prices are collectors who don't go anywhere or give a toss, same with the Sweet Soul collecting, through the roof, no signs of tailing off either Kev

People are always displaying their astonishment at the prices the auctions are fetching, nothing has surprised or astounded me with what is being paid for the last few years, the landscape has totally changed, the "going rate" no longer applies, and hasn't for a while, same as the term "books for" as with everything, supply and demand, these items aren't 20 years old anymore, more like 40 or 50+ years old, most stuff is auction, or private transaction through social media, Popsike isn't a reliable performance indicator either as only auction sales apply, it's down to how much somebody desires a record, and how much they're willing to pay, the term "make me an offer I can't refuse" comes to mind in a lot of cases Kev
  9. Hi Steve, hope you're well my man, the way I look at it now is that "the going rate, book price etc" is done, and has been for a long time, a records worth, and we are talking now about 50/60 year old pieces, is what someone is prepared to pay, the days of pulling stuff out of sales boxes is over imho Kev
  10. Met him at Prestatyn many moons ago, lovely guy, ultra talented singer, writer and producer, R.I.P. Lou Kev
  11. The flip, "Your Love Is Like A High" is a very desirable record amongst the Californian Sweet Soul collectors and would change hands at a premium rate if it ever comes up, that probably explains the interest on Ebay, gem of a record IMHO Kev
  12. Will be at the book signing session at WH Smith my man, signed copy for me please, Count me in Kev
  13. Rare, and totally brilliant 👌
  14. John Manship has one 👍
  15. The MB,S is a want of mine, some great stuff on there 👌
  16. Yep, "Ain't no coming back" defo sounds earlier than the inferior (imho) "Showstopper/Door" Kev
  17. Yes Mike, remember clearly, as soon as a record was "Pressed" the aura and appeal for the relevant 45 all but disappeared Kev
  18. Bargain !!! Flip is awesome
  19. Will be in touch Jakob, questionnaire with you by Saturday, love it !!! Kev
  20. Great choice, not live, but try Once you had a heart, I'm sure you'll get the same result Kev
  21. As usual, the hottest ticket in town, magnificent soulful diversity, catch up with you guys later in the year (bloody shifts) 😡 Kev
  22. Bought this for the flip, One Kindness deserves another, fantastic guitar work, lo-fi recording, which adds to it imo, sort after on the Sweet Soul scene in Califs, so imagine it's getting a bit scarce as it's collected on two fronts Kev
  23. His finest moment imo, and that's saying summat Kev
  24. The Exceptions is exactly the reason I bought it, fantastic Group record, will be hard to beat that in the new release of the year for 2020 imo. Early doors I know. On the same level as the best release for last year, Love, Unity and Virtue, Let love shine on Six Nine Records. Poundsy, who was responsible for the release, along with group member and currently still active, Howard Johnson, sold the limited press from a flat in Newcastle I think, They went quickly, 80% were sold to California collectors where it was originally recorded but never issued in 1976. I think the rest went to mainland Europe, hardly any to UK collectors. Kev
  25. Exceptions is a brilliant Group Soul record, ordered Kev
