Guest POTTERIESPECK
,i was wondering who actually djed on the nite?? would ave gone but was djing elsewhere, and £20 seemed a bit steep the normal niters at stoke are just superb so may see you there at the next one.... atb Spot on Wiganer at £20 a throw, KEV [ goldsoul ] charge £12 -- £15 with a unmatchable line up of DJ's. for their ALL NIGHTERS held at the same venue, Saturday's attendance was, i believe was around the 1000 mark for a venue that holds 1400, of these 600 were supplied free of charge for VIP's. Come to what conclussion you want. i'm sure i could have blagged a couple of tickets for last Saturday's event, BUT !!! there's was no chance of me attending on principle. In my eyes the joint promoters of this event [ Soda Pictures & Stoke-On-Trent City Council were trying to get 800 paying punters to pay or help to subsidize there p#ss up. This was one person they were'nt going to have as a c#nt and rip of. Link to comment
Anton L
It is this sort of sniping and trendy hate that is making people up and down our scene hate SOUL SOURCE, eventualy no one will dare come on here, for fear of having verbal pins stuck in them or being tranformed in to the anti-christ by keyboard warriors. My god I can walk out of my front door and find so many more deserving people to slag off and very often do, in the servicesafter a nighter!! Weather we are promoters, event organisers, DJs, punters, dancers, collectors no one deserves some of the treatment or words that have come off this forum in recent weeks. If we must put things on here, we should think how we would feel it it was said to us. I'm not one to be shy, but if I say something on here I will be quit willing to say it to that persons face and accept what it brings, there are plenty of people that I may not agree with or just don't find very nice, but usualy I have bit more important things to do than tear them apart on my keyboard. Before any one askes, yes I am bored at the mo, as I am on holiday and I am doing my best at being very lazy!! Link to comment
Goldsoul
800 Mark. The security are the same ones hired by me'. Let's not split hairs, the film is pretty good and everyone had a fairly good time. My one and only gripe....the organizers got the entertainment plan wrong on the night. But I appreciate promoter talk can be different to punter speak. Link to comment

One minute you are bored, the next minute you ain't & we still have no idea of what the hell you're on about??? Can ask that you (& others) keep on topic here & on other threads. There's a 'members feedback' forum for matters like this. Link to comment

AR'GH,different promoter like yourself KEV and probably the night would have been organised a lot better, and dare i say it probably anot a £20 entrance charge. £1 for £1 i did'nt think this was good value . I've always worked along the lines that i don't have anybody for a c#nt and don't like anybody trying to have me for one and on this occassion i thought the promotetrs of this event where. souldivawax
You should have been steering the titanic kev but they just had you stoking the boiler.. Maybe that would have not saved you hitting the iceburg though.. A lot of poor reviews and £20 a ticket don't get that many folk moist i guess.. As the king says" yet another own goal" .. Interesting feedback kev, you have taken it over now,ha ha.. More plug than a plumbers merchants. Any other feedback folks?? Did the night really miss kevs dream team..? Ginger Taylor should have been there. Keb Liam and Jo are not Wigan DJ's but I enjoyed what they played. Dave Evison did the best spot I have heard him play for years unfortunately there were not enough people there to apprciate it. When I went to Wigan we got new stuff all the time, plugged by DJ's who thought we needed educating. Why pander constantly to people who only want to hear a limited amount of records? If they don't hear anything new (or new to them) how will they ever appreciate whats out there. I once went to a venue where the main DJ made a point of saying which of his records were 'massive' at Wigan - even tho he'd never attended. Later when 'House for Sale' was played all his affecionados sat out!! Because they didn't know!! :-) Link to comment

Even KR has admitted he couldn't get a reaction for "Potion of Love" - Ambers....probably cos the crowd didn't know it.!!!!!. As they say - Move on people, there's nothing here to see. Link to comment
Guest dave nowell
One thing I find strange about the whole hype of the film....WHERE IS IT SHOWING? There is absolutely no publicity or list of cinemas you can travel to! In fact it's the most asked question at present. Anyone got the answer? Ey up...............................it's showing at the Wigan Empire Theatre! (surprise surprise) details are here.. https://www.wigan-casino.co.uk/ it took some digging around but it was worth it in the end! Link to comment
Md Records
call me a bit thick, so.......the Film makers borrow the established Kings hall venue for the evening to "promote" their product, but charge MORE than the established all nighter does - how does that work? Des Parker Link to comment

(surprise surprise) details are here.. https://www.wigan-casino.co.uk/ What a wonderful and informative website, two Wigan anniversaries listed for Sept 25th, the first in Wigan listed as the 37th Anniversary and the other in Blackburn listed as the 39th Anniversary, how's that work then? Md Records
Given the brief "Look guys this is a marketing tool, and a fantastic oppurtunity to promote our film, so keep it as cheap as is humanly possible" they must have calculated the "special admission price" of £20 for Saturday night then, it all makes sense now.
