vinylia
Hi all Can anyone help with a value on this 45 by The Tiaras, please? The songs are "Foolish Girl" / "Surprise!" It's on Op-Art 1003, Canadian label, mid-sixties. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Cheers, Marc Link to comment Social source share
Tommaso
Last one sold for 2000£ if I remember well.. was listed on Manship website (buy it now) and went very quickly. There should be 7-8 copies out there, I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you more.. Link to comment Social source share
Dave Abbott
I'd have thought more than £2k - one of the best ever double sider cover-ups imo :-) Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
I didn't see the one on JM's site but someone said it was a mistake??? Why would John list it for £2k when it's one of the biggest records in recent years? Can John confirm he sold it? All the others bar one I think have sold for more than £2k. It's quality, both sides and one of the best discoveries of the last 15 years. 1 Link to comment Social source share

Agree about quality, got to say "Foolish girl" has always been the killer side for me.. Edited October 14, 2010 by Tommaso Link to comment Social source share
Marc Forrest
Could well be a mistake.. Maybe he didn't put it on auction because it was still covered up at the time? But then again he wouldn`t have had put the price tag of 2000 UKP on it, would he ? I still remember that posting on here by a known fellow soulie telling us that he just bought it though. I have no reason to doubt him. But having said that even more strange things have been made up in the past LOL ! Great record...used to be 3 K before it was uncovered , wasn`t it ? So I agree, around 2K these days I would have thought. Link to comment Social source share

Dave Abbott
Could well be a mistake.. Maybe he didn't put it on auction because it was still covered up at the time? it wasn't auction - at the time there was a link to a Manshis (old) website page with the record listed (no price) Link to comment Social source share
Chalky
Marc why would the price come down because it is uncovered? No more copies have turned up unless topic starter selling one. All the other copies from same source. So it is just as rare now ad it was when covered up. It is massively indemand with loads after a copy. Chalky
it wasn't auction - at the time there was a link to a Manshis (old) website page with the record listed (no price) But did John have a copy, sure someone on here in a previous topic about this record said not. Hopefully John can set the record straight. Link to comment Social source share

Phil Shields
with the prices some records reach on auction I reckon if John auctioned a copy now with so much demand for this........it would go for loads more than £2000 Link to comment Social source share

I was taking the current economical situation into consdieration when I made up my mind about a possible current value...but any economic situation seldomly has had any impact on the high end items at all. So you may have a point indeed mate Marc Link to comment Social source share
Prophonics 2029
i was thinking how un-rare it looked - if you know what i mean... Yeah! like you have seen it so many times in the charity shop and had no record player to try it or left it thinking it was swirly music. Link to comment Social source share

vinylia
All the other copies from same source. Thanks for all your helpful information. Great stuff! It is a cracker of a record. Fantastic double sider! Are we thinking of the same person as the "same source"? Cheers, Marc Link to comment Social source share
