The Ru-Jac Label

The Ru-Jac label must be the most complicated (or just plain crazy) numbering system I've ever come across.

I've listed what I've got below, and as you'll see, the numbers have no sequence, are repeated, might not exist, and are possibly completely out of order as far as dates.

So if any one can fill in some of the gaps I'd be really grateful.

Dave, when you look at the numbers of some tracks,1671, Gene & Eddie for example, the listing in R & B Indies shows this as 1-6-71 which together with others listed similarly, indicates the date of release, ie 6th of January 1971.

Just received a copy, but I won't be home before next friday so I can't record. If no one can help you out earlier i'll put a sounclip on refosoul next weekend. (btw: gutted that I bought the record as M- and received it with 1. 1/2 inch crack 2. ringwear and 3. a vg+-ish vinyl). £50 if anyone wants it...

Some great soul music on Ru-Jac. A personal favourite is the Gene & Eddie double sider Oh How You Hurt Me / Darling I Love You.

Has anyone got a copy of the Harold Holt/Arthur Conley release of Lonely Stranger? I'd love to hear that if it's different to the Jotis release recorded at Stax.
