One of the best records that that I've heard recently.

Just bought a copy, It's Awesome & I can't stop playing it.

It travels to work with me in the car every shift on my player.

If it was Ultra RARE, who knows what price it would fetch?

It's a brilliant Tune and its Not going to break the Bank at the moment,

Shivers down the spine etc as I Post. I Love it.

It transports me back to the day when I first discovered this wonderful music.

Ain't Nothing But A Houseparty / What Can A Man Do ?? = YES, got that.

Heartbreaker ?

Somehow I missed It first time around.

Shame on me.

This from me , also came in a soul bowl soul pack !

Love this

Sunday soul at it's best!

It is indeed a great Northern record and one I often play at home in my little personal sessions! Thing is I cannot ever recall hearing it being played at any do I have ever attended...Maybe it was at Wigan in the earlier years but that's too long ago for me to recall but I don't remember it played when I went... maybe someone older at the time could comment?

Something else from them, just brings back great memories of sitting round PETE WIDD'S house in the 70s and him playing records like this for fun...

Happy skip-a-long little ditty from me today. One that I couldn't even dream of dancing to,my little legs won't move that fast :D

Just found this , a video clip with two of my favourite pass times in one

Northern soul and beer ! but i will say that in 37 years i have never mixed the two

This afternoon's offering: A great song written by two of my heroes who actually became friends, Jimmy 'The Wiz" and Billy Jackson. There are a few groups named The Revels including one that had Joe Jama in their line up. This is obviously the Philly black group who evolved from their doo wop beginnings that recorded the novelty 45 "Foo Man Choo". This outing is great example of the danceable soul records that Billy and Jimmy were so adept at. Tremendous record that should be heard a lot more.

Regards,

Dave

:hatsoff2: Hi All I have put this Detroit Classic from the RIC-TIC Label on to-night, for 1 reason only, After following the thread about selling up your Collection, would you get the same satisfaction from watching this? or having it at home to play as and as often as you want, and thinking about the whole history about the label and all the detroit record labels, or be a 2 dimensional freak,?

Freddie Gorman RIC-TIC 101 DEMO, Value £20 real value to me right now, priceless! :g:

This from me !

Not too well known but one i've had for 37+ years !

and this a lesser know version of a classic!

LP Track...SMOKEY ROBINSON AND THE MIRACLES 'Dont say you love me'...Bloody Superb dancer...Bit of a mystery going on here though, wonder if anybody can help me out? Posted this once before in a thread and pointed out that this version - from youtube - is devoid of the brilliant backing vocals that are clearly audible on the vinyl LP version (off 'Four in Blue') and which add considerably to the Northern 'feel' of the track...Anybody know where this version comes from because it appears to be a different mix..

Todays tune will always remind me of the Ritz in the late 70t's,think it was played at The Casino as well???The memories a bit sketchy around that period..........not quite sure why :g:

Oscar Perry-Main String Perri-Tone

THE PLATTERS 'hard to get a thing called love'....

Can't believe I did not know this version until MARTYN mentioned it yesterday...Utterly bloody sublime midtempo perfection, a copy winging it's way to me now so I think that qualifies me to post it!....

This gets plays from time to time but has never even been near going big or even getting regular plays which is a pity as I thinks it's nice mover.

Jimmy Dockett-Take A Chance Mystic 4
