An interesting gospel tune from me today on the Designer label out of Memphis. Most likely a 'vanity' record and not the best production but i LOVE it.

Genessee Gospel Travellers featuring George Smith - Don't blame it on the children - Designer

Like this,a bit different, not sure it'd work for the dancefloor but a good un for home??

Is this "George Smith" of "I've Had It" fame do you know?

Agree it's just a good tune to listen to. Pretty sure it's not the same George.

Nice one Andy.

The quite very under rated Mr Perry. He's done lots of stuff which just oozes soul. Come on Down is probably too well known to pUost up but i'm gonna do it anyway cos i love it.

Peter

come on down went down brilliantly at Just Soul Retford and Dave Longbottoms drystone radio show champions it nice tunes and underrated artist IMO nice Peter!!

Greg Perry - Love Control.......... great underplayed oldie

One of MANY that I missed. Yes, I'll admit it, this could have been a one off or a chance of a Lifetime.

A Soul Bowl List dropped though my door week after week back in the 70s and I didn't buy this record Until ebay arrived.

Remember seeing it for sale on a regular basis. Yet week after week I bought other records.

Just goes to show. There's always More to collect out there.

A Valued part of my collection now.

Aldora Britton - DO IT WITH SOUL - One of my favourite records today.

I reckon it deserves to rub shoulders with the best.

Norman Connors Once I've Been There-Budda still a very cheap record but still sounds pretty good a well known 30 odd year old sound that gets folk dancing .£5ish

Staying with the £5 theme.A tune I've loved since I bought it many years ago & still gets plenty of stick here in our house. Not an easy one to fit into a spot but on the odd occasion I have it always gets some comments even if it's surprise at hearing it played out?

Isaac Hayes - Rollin Down A Mountainside Enterprise

A lovely little tune produced by George Blackwell from me today

The Exsaveyons - I Dont Love You No More

Speaking of £5 tunes, I bought a few (really) cheap ones at the weekend!

This one is well known, but what a belter!

Five Stairsteps - Change of Pace - Windy C - 608

cheap, 60's, uptempo, Mayfield produced, little bit pop, £5-£10, bargain!

What is it Mick? Cant see videos at work, and access via phone doesn't always show the vids either - a title and artist post before you do the post with the youtube link in always helps!

Would have thought that was about right, when it was at it's height it was nigh on double that?

Well stopping in last weekend certainly had a silver lining as I found this beauty on a list I'd have probably missed feeling rough  So another long time want joins the collection & what's more when it landed today It's got a cracking B side.........makes it half the price

Tony Middleton - Return To Spanish Harlem/Already Satisfied Speed

Bugger :(

great version , different to the main ingredient version, he puts his own mark on it,

Only knew Isaac's version until I read the comments on You Tube when looking for it to post on here, the original version was done by Third Creation on Motown.None are as good as Isaac's imo but that's usually the case with the first version you hear I always think?

Better seems to have dropped a bit in recent months.

Yea has come down in price thanks for that Mick don't seem to keep your eye on the prices much after you have chased them down too busy looking for my next buy

The other side "i want action" is OK for a RnB pick:

This is nice mate.

Got to follow it with another. Seem to recall that Mr Hampsey might have re-hammered this at Clifton Hall or Cleethorpes Winter Gardens - but could be wrong.

Used to like this - not so sure today?

Probably an Adam spin.

Ramsay Lewis and Nancy Wilson - Closer than Close

Peter

:g:

How's about a bit of yellow vinyl?

Swiss Movement - I Wish Our Love Would Last Forever

Still like this mid tempo baby.

Another old Sean spin - used to like dancing to this.

Demetri - Got to be Real

Peter

Reminds me of Mr Jackson ?
