Thought it would be a good idea to post scans, pics, or just name the records that dropped through the letterbox or you have bought somewhere.

I thought it would be good idea to see what we are all buying - it doesn't matter f it is £1 or £cost a fortune, just post it here so we can all see what we managed to get and may a few words on why we bought it?

Moderaters can advise if it is a good thread or not.

I will get the ball rolling with two that came today (Scans below)

1. Young Holt Limited "California Montage" Brunswick USA DEMO - well chuffed, have a stocker, but wanted the demo!

2. Gloria Jones "Tainted Love" USA Champion - label is knackered, vinyl plays great and is in VG++ condition. I bought as I cannot afford a Minty one so got this one for £20 so I can play on original vinyl in my soul do at my house!

Finally got myself a copy of this beautiful Detroit modern rarity. Sins of Satan "Mother Nature" on Ecology. I was first turned on to this track though a mix Arron Anderson did for Jazzman about three or four years ago. There were some great tracks in that mix.

Had a few arrive this week, among them these arrived yesterday.   Roosevelt Grier - Since You've Been Gone, Newby & Johnson - I Want To Give You My Everything, Elanthony - Will You Wait/Sweet Jo-Ann (upgraded my copy), Gene Faith - I Fell In Love With An Angel, The Reknown - I Can't Go On/Can't Get Enough Of Your Love (which is typical garage soul from this Little Rock MY Records label), and Rod Bristow - Bye Bye, So Long.

"Had a few arrive this week, among them these arrived yesterday.   Roosevelt Grier - Since You've Been Gone, ........."

Probably this isn't the right thread to post this clip but it's in reference to a record I mentioned in post #575 which may not be instantly obvious that it is in fact the same song, albeit "live", sung by the same artist.  It's always good to see these performances so here we have The Fearsome Foursome - Since You're Gone (aka Roosevelt Grier - Since You've Been Gone.)

Lisa Richards - Mean Old World/Take A Chance - Vocalion.

Been after an Ex copy of this for years, I don't usually get excited about getting records these days but I'm well chuffed with this. £30.

Great double header.

Phil.

Al Wilson - Now I Know What Love Is - Soul City

Skull Snaps - Didnt I Do It To You - GSF - same both sides promo

The strange world of Northern Soul?

I am in a muddy field in rural Ontario at what is a boot sale for all intents and purposes, it is pissing down with rain and I have found f**k all. Decided to call it quits at the end of the row as it was close to the car. Asked the question - got any records? Yes, a box here but they are all UK. Started sorting through, Slade, Sweet, Mud, T Rex etc etc and then in a little gang:

Donald Height - Talk Of The Grapevine - Jay Boy

Jamo Thomas - I Spy - Polydor with centre

Eddie Floyd - Things Get Better - Blue Stax

Doris Troy - Ill Do Anything - Mojo

Jackie Wilson - Sweetest Feeling - MCA

Richard Temple - That Beatin' Rhythm - Jay Boy

Andre Brasseur - The Kid - CBS

Bobbi Lynn - Earthquake - Bell

Frankie Valli - The Night - Mowest 3024

Edwin Starr - My Weakness Is You - Gordy

All a buck each!!

Just bought I'm the Man- Albert Washington from a very kind man on here and it's excellent and I can't stop playing it. :D

Here's another Willie Mitchell production which is winging its way from the states - sublime soul music. From that great Tennessee based label Hi - lots of similarity with the previous record.

Quiet Elegance - I'm Afraid Of Losing You.
