Fcuk, how old is Dean Parrish now? I saw him years ago and he looked old then. He still looks good and is obviously still fit.

Nice.

Peter , had a chat with Dean for about 15 minutes , top man , really humble . I thought he said he was 71 ? We discussed his involvement with the band 'Steeplechase' on Polydor , Religion & War !!! not bad in 15 minutes  .

Sidney Barnes top bloke to , really friendly , I was well made up having a chinwag with these legends and how they keep going at their age is a testament to them.

Think Dean said Sidney was 80  and still enjoying the perks of being a pop star , if you know what i mean :wicked::lol: .

& Yes I was there all weekend :shhh::boxing: and had a bloody good time , forget the politics .

Swifty

blimey! do i l lurve ya now on a 12"

Frank Wilson did an even longer version at the Cala Gran Arthur, you'd have thought he'd only ever made one record of note  :D

Yup closed it down as it was merely about the attendance so am trying to adhere to the keep it current theme, we got enough threads running about ns....handbags, poll thread etc...Steve

Thanks for putting up the video. Was at the week-end with my wife and we had a fantastic time. Just to add that Brenda Hollloway was also present on the video. Talking to her she is determined to learn more of her northern soul classics before she comes across to these shores again. Where Did You Go, When I'm Gone and the first verse of Reconsider weren't bad starts though.

On Saturday night Chris Clark gave us Do I Love You as a finale to her act with the same backing band and singers. Also a wonderful moment.

A great weekend which was maybe less hardcore and intense than Prestatyn or Bridlington which i also attend but really enjoyable with the range of acts, music, things to do (including northern soul dance lessons). Incredibly friendly atmosphere.

However as I'm a Southerner and never went to Wigan Casino, what do I know about such things.

...must mention quietly doing what he has done for nearly 50yrs in this country in clubs up and down the country...Geno Washington..gave a sterling performance...we must have nearly all have seen him bitd...but was fantastic to see him 'working it' again on 2013

Hi Jez, I assume it was the UK guy rather than Gino Washington from detroit?

Yes Steve...he's from the States originally of course....but he's the Geno..that was working the Clubs, Wheel, Flamingo etc etc from way back...did a real good show actually and probably shows his experience of working with British crowds for so long......nice to see a 'tradesman' like him in action.  Not sure how many of the original Ram Jam Band he had with him....but either way they gave a 'tight' performance.....nice rhythmn and bluesy backing
