  • I said £50.00 because in demand stuff even boots go for silly prices. I think £10.00 for a boot is still over the top but that's just my opinion.

  • HI ALL.... I remember selling Richard Domar a Dalton Boys VIP F copy at the OLD VIC in Wolves in 86 he hit the roof when he found out it was not real, shouting he demanded a refund, and got the reply

  •   I don't know anyone apart from ebay d*ckheads who'd pay £50 for it, £15 maybe, at a push

The seller is Craig and he knows his stuffs most of the time. Not this time I'd say.Craig is a business man but he is no crook. He must have made a genuine mistake even though it's pretty obvious here. The buyer can be assured to be paid back if he claims it on the other hand.

Can't see Craig making that mistake personally!!! :g:

I emailed Craig when the auction was on to ask him if it was the styrene orig or the vinyl boot but he never responded to me.

If it was an original, surely he would have put a set sale price on it.Are the boots really fetching £50.?

It sounds a bit naughty that Jordi and can't see how it's got through the net with Craig unless one of the staff listed and didn't authenticate. Still styrene vs original for a dealer of the stature should be a no-brainer.

Great double-sider btw, prefer 'Elevator' me self - hope buyer is alerted or it's an expensive counterfeit surprise for somebody..

It was actually an ebay message that I sent him while the auction was running. I have emailed him on other occasions and always got a response.

I think maybe a member of his staff put it up. Not sure if I feel for the buyer or not tho.... When throwing that sort of money around you should be aware of the facts

What I don't understand is that the differences between the original and the boot are well known and a quick look at popsike or collectorsfrenzy will show potential buyers that the credits and catalogue numbers on the boot are in a completely different place to the original

Hi All....Len Jewel "all my good good lovin" a true 2 sided classic,  1976 I got my first copy & it was styrene, the second copy was plastic, never seen another styrene copy, not sure of the true status of the plastic copy, but it's worth having for both sides at a guess £20 would be about right!

Some years ago I  bought a Dalton Boys (VIP) off Craig only to find that it was the white label boot

(no matrix stamp), which I returned.

Although he immediately offered to refund me, he said that it was one of a box that he had

bought as originals from a renowned UK dealer, years previously

I have always found Records By Mail Customer service first class though.

I would say that one of his team got this wrong and if there's a complaint he'll put it right.

Two great sides on this one though and it is a pretty convincing boot.

Was he wearing the Rupert bear scarf when he was falling out with you?

I seem to recall he rather liked that scarf!

Hi All....Yes he always wore it, Richard was a strange person to deal with, he would pay top prices for records, which was good news for dealers, however this would mean he sold stuff way over priced from his list, of thousand's,

He sold the Brooks brothers for a few pounds, talk about mugging yourself?

I met him at the Casino record bar a couple of times in the late 70's when he was dealing records and American Marvel/DC comics on the side.

I think that he was at Uni doing a Sociology Degree, any idea what he's up to these days?

:hatsoff2: HI ALL...He had an obsessive thing about the CASINO, he did a fanzine OWLS EFFORT,  As I stopped going to Wigan in MAY 78 many of the younger Wolves Soulsters were unknown to myself, (yet it is the younger ones, who have been avid supporters to this day).

Not sure if Ady C, Mick Smith & Pete Wid stayed to the bitter end, I suppose they did with all the keen young blood to sell to,

Wolves good guy Pete Smith would no about RD better than me, I have not seen Richard about for at least 8 years, and as I no longer get RECORD COLLECTOR where he used to advertise his latest list, I can't tell you if he is still selling records?? :shhh: DAVE K
