Who Is Buying The Vinyl?

Recommended Posts

My first post - so go easy  :wicked:

This question may seem a bit open ended, I often wondered what the age ranges might be and whether the younger soulies are spending their hard earned money on expensive vinyl

I'm 22, I'm always looking for new stuff to buy!

I love vinyl, it has so much more character than a CD or MP3, I love putting it on, dropping the needle in, flipping an LP over!

With a glass of good single malt, 22 going on 52.  :sleep3:

There is supposedly a vinyl revival happening with sales at their highest in a long time last year. Whilst there is still demand for rare and original vinyl it is however concerning the amount of folk on the likes of Facebook who don't care what the format is and have no appreciation for the records being original and the Northern Soul scene being an original vinyl scene. Suppose it's my fault for being on Facebook.

In that case I may take my two 45's of Spyder Turner/Pree to Prestatyn and and see if anybody is interested. I wonder if FunkyFeet Records will be there again....

....then there's people like me - 50, with a few hundred records bought in the late 70s early 80s....followed by the early Kent LPs

After getting over the thrill of the first northern compilations on CD (and having a bit more spare cash recently) I have been buying original vinyl for the past year... the thrill has come back big time!... I only wish I'd carried on buying back in the day.

I'm not trying to build a cock-waving collection of 'big lads', just a nice bunch of proper northern records that I can pop on to the deck and marvel at how wonderful they sound!
