  • Might get scolded for posting this.    I dont care! I've always loved this record since I began my personal journey into soul music. It's beautiful and so is the video in so many ways.

That's pretty cool old fella. :wicked:

Just joking mate. One of those nice dance tracks that you can do the "cocky, posing, lazy" style of dancing to.

Hope all is well Martyn.

Had this a while now, cheap as chips but absolutely love it

Don't know much about it but Dee Dee carries it off brilliantly.

Only ever heard it played out once & it was me playing it. Lol

Nice piece of southern soul from me today

Issued on Hi in US & London in UK mine is UK London Demo

George Jackson - Aretha,Sing One For Me

Atb Kev :hatsoff2:

Going a bit mod, would love a UK copy, which is more collectable than the French Fontana EP.

The V.I.P. 's "Straight To The Bottom" Island UK/ Fontana France:

I love the brass arrangement on this

This is great to play in the car on the way home, however shite a day you've had this is guaranteed to cheer you up.  Carole King, Phil Spector, and Darlene Love....what a brilliant combination!

The above song by the Blossoms produced by Spector plus Bob Bateman and Ron Moseley and Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich who produced this beauty from the best ever girl group The Shangri-Las, puts an end really to any ideas that Motown and Soul were a black idea! Who ever came up with the idea that Northern came from 'Sugar-Pie honey bunch?'

Another from Timmion . This one from 2007 has been re issued , (presumably originally a ltd edition) ,  due to demand . Got the original but never got round to playing  at the Dekkas Roots Room sessions - tho in hindsight guess it would have gone down well .

That's very nice of you to say.

There aren't very many Northern Soul birders (of the feathered variety) about.

Regards

Mick

You'd be surprised, there's a couple that are serious birders, Steve and Martyn, I'm more into plants and butterflies, but there are others too.

A Sunday chill out track, the flip to "No more heartaches, no more pain"...

Another Sunday night chill out sound, the flip to "Walk like a man", quite crackly though

spelling mistake

Sold my last copy of this today...

Lovely atmospheric tune and the best version. just had a witter in another thread about Trade Martin needing a look at by some of the compilers of CD's the man did so much.

Sandy Barber ' I Think I'll Do Some Stepping (On My Own) (Opolopo Rework) '

Best version imo , only came out on a 10'' single sided demo and reputedly only 10 in existence . Mark Randle has one , ones in Australia , not sure where the other 7 are as apart from Mark and I seems silent on playlists etc

The only way is up, collect ability wise, I reckon.

Written by Biddu, one of his better ones.

Moon Williams I can't live without you Dick James Music (DJM) - not the best voice in the world though.

I have another version in the collection somewhere, might recall what it is someday:

Hiya, not posted in ages but i thought i'd share may latest purchase - well pleased :-)
