We are in a period of fantastic new 45 releases imo, which will be appreciated in years to come if not now, I'll start this off with the killer 45 from 2015, only 2 left on discogs and surely soon to be an auction record, so what are your picks from recent times?

Some songs written by Lucinda Slim and Keb Darge.Her friendship Keb Darge (they met in the early 90's) led to 2 compilation albums and numerous DJ-residencies alongside Darge throughout London, such as the long established Deep Funk night at Madame Jojo's. 
Next to recording and touring the world with Zap Mama for almost 2 decades she's also shared the stage with Youssou N'Dour, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Sharon Jones. All this time she's been an avid record collector, with a clear preference for northern soul, deep funk and rhythm & blues. 

Her very first solo release "All This Time", turned out to be modfather Paul Weller's favorite tune for his Mojo Magazine top 5 in 2009. During a stay in Belgium, she assembled a top notch 4-man band, went through arrangements and rehearsals and recorded a solid album live in just 2 days. The Haggis Horns later added their magic in Leeds (UK). 

The band represents Belgium's finest musicians : New Orleans Jazz-aficionado Frederik Vandenberghe on drums and percussion, groove expert Matthias Debusschere on bass, key wizard Peter Lesage (Jesse Boykins III, Moiano) on piano & Wurlitzer and jazzcat Bruno De Groote on guitar. Production and mixdown were handled by krewcial (BBE, Blue Note Records). Performing with the UK's premier horn section The Haggis Horns (Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamiroquai) and touring with Sharon Jones & The Dapkings gave Lucinda the experience and final push to record her own proper solo album. 

The album features 8 songs. Co-written with Keb Darge and Gabriel Roth from Daptone Records, including cover versions of "Two Winters Long" by Irma Thomas and "You Don't Mean It" by Towanda Barnes.

Seems 10 done as promos  by BBE in 2015 . (Although 20 quoted elsewhere ). 

Understand Mark Randle has one ,  one in Australia , a lucky purchaser commenting on Discogs plus mine . Only other I’ve ever seen for sale was on Darren Brown’s auction site and £400 seems to ring a bell . No idea where others are as other owners don’t seem to play them out ?

I think this a great is a great thread. The past five years plus have seen some really fine releases from the USA. Colemine has a fine groove going with the likes of  Durand Jones and Kelly Finnigan whilst there is some great retro Chicano /Chicana releases at the moment from the likes of Trish Toledo (check her cover of The Vanguards 'Somebody Please' and Thee Lakesides 'Parachute' is a blast.

Two favourites 45s of mine are these little beauties from 2012 by The Jack Moves  and from 2016  a Colemine release by Geno Washington.

This was my favourite British release of recent times. Nick Corbin is a fine songwriter whose been bought up to appreciate the old sounds.

Is it only me who feels that the sitar riff at the second minute, sounds like She's Lost Control from Joy Division? 

The really amazing live performance of Dance with My Baby plus Don't Blame Me ( second song of the clip, edited to start at the beginning of the song)

Agree with original post. Like some of these new releases as a genre in and of themself. Some are a bit contrived others are great, Couldn't give a toss if someone on here thinks they are not 'authentic ' northern soul. How dreary.🙄

Fantastic thread. I'm really enjoying it and compiling a list of tracks to hear again. Actually saw New Colour  who Scootboy recommends , in Bologna, a few years back. They were really good with a top quality lead singer.

I'd like to highlight a couple of Chicano / Chicana 45's . It's a golden time for Latin ballads many of them produced in California by Joey Quinones. Two firme rollas as they say in Sussex.
