But If You Must Go is probably one of the best records ever put to vinyl. Great comp.

And a timely reminder of just how good Sandra Richardson "Stay here with me" sounds today. I packed it in the box for dropping on an unsuspecting crowd this weekend. A bit like "Body chains" a few years ago. These tunes STAND! 

The guy is a genius in how he created multi tracks from one track.

Very similar to Tony Hestor and Richard Wylie productions.

'I'm gone' ticks every northern soul box there is to tick. The fact that it did not sell, as always, enhanced its value.

For some reason the Smith Brothers never really clicked with me at the time it was being played out...better late than never, I suppose...

Been on repeat for a few days now. As Chalky says "BIYMG" is magnificent.  

...and as for Sandra Richardson well, if it were rare...blah blah blah

Absolutely essential cd if you're into this soul type stuff;)

A marvellous CD, one of the best this year, I'll wager. 'BIYMG' IS brilliant and "Don't Leave Me Baby" is just as good.

Great comp but anyone know why track 23 Soul In-Pressions - Girl, Dont Worry has been credited to the Smith Brothers? Never even knew this track was anything to do with Jack Ashford.

The Soul Impressions was co-wrote and prduced by Kennedy Hollman, Kennedy was one of the main protagonists in th Solid Solution album project which Jack Ashford part mixed and played percussion on. Jack may or may not have mixed the Soul Impressions although uncredited for Kennedy ? Therefore Jack woud have the tapes which 40 years later on he sends to Kent and can't remember the  true artists  identity a all too familiar story.

Or could the Soul Impressions be the Moonlighting Smith Brothers or vice versa ?
