Its a classic instrumental. It was one of thhose goldmine Wigan Casino comps a few years back.
February 5, 200916 yr It's a fantastic slab of hard core New Orleans guitar plucking that always makes me nod approvingly, on my way to the dance-floor, when I hear it out. So much so that I re-purchased it a couple of weeks ago after selling it last year to raise funds for a want.

February 5, 200916 yr Wasn't it an extra track added to an Aaron Neville album as a filler? Might be wrong. Old Cats and Wigan sound, sounds ten times better loud than it does at home though...

Now I think about it, I might be wrong about the flipside (serves me right for being a smartarse!) I sold up about 9 years ago though, and I know I haven't seen one since. You're right, it was on an Aaron Neville CD, credited to him, which is why I bought the CD - I thought I'd discovered the vocal version! Doh!!

Apparently the album ran out of money half way through so the instumental tracks are all on one side i think. I will dig it out at the weekend to make sure.

February 9, 200916 yr Nice one Steve, hope you find the Darryl Stewart too mate As Boba said about the flip side of the bootleg, "Bet you're surprised" is a lot like "Tell it like it is" in its opening, but make sure to give it a listen right through. Great track, especially the changes in key towards the end. I'm not sure now, thinking back to the distant past, but I know I got mine in a soul pack. Although I bought quite a few of 100, I seem to remember this one, along with Gwen Owens and a few others, being in a pack of 40 that I got from a guy in Godalming in Surrey - does that ring a bell with people?
