  1. Visited Angers, France earlier this year through work as part of a cultural delegation. They have an active programme of outdoor art and there is a trail compiled of over 30 works across the city. Couldn't see them all sadly but had a tour of the ones in the city centre. They commission additional work every year and the museums are amazing! x
  2. Happy birthday

A little late posting but I couldn't not add to what everyone else has said. Absolutely cracking weekend, fabulous weather which is not something you usually have to factor in, but when you have outside DJ areas in such a beautiful setting, it certainly helps if it's 30 plus degrees. Fantastic mix of music, brilliant bunch of people, and a busy dance floor from the off on Friday which set the tone for the whole weekend. So good to see the madder than mad bunch Kev J, Gaz S, Kev C, Colin D, John B, and of course Tats after so many years 😍 Congrats to Harry and all who had a hand in organising such a great event x
  3. Brian was there right from the start for me. Really sad news x
  4. Strettles had a booth. Some great nights there run by Colin Murphy, bless him x
  5. Really looking forward to Saturday. The Snug is a fabulous coffee house by day and an independent live music venue by night, so when they asked us if we would come down and play a few records, we happily said yes. Phil W already regularly plays there on a Sunday, and has kindly agreed to join us. We'll be bringing our usual Grumpy fayre along with a smattering of classics and oldies, and you all know Mr Wainwright is quality, so a great night of soul music is guaranteed. Plus they are hiring in a dance floor especially for the night, so do come and join us. And it's FREE!
  6. Hi Mike I've noticed that the paid for pink event banners/headers are no longer showing on the activity stream when they used to before the upgrade x
  7. I can't recommend him enough, as in he is amazing! Jeez 😂
  8. Yann Vatiste. He flattened a warp and cleaned up another record for me, can't recommend him enough!
  9. Jumpinjoan posted a soul guide event in Soul Nights

Join us for a night of soul brought to you by Phil Threlfall, Phil Wainwright, and Joan Livesey. Expect classics, rarities, and everything in between. The Snug, 67a Market Street, Atherton. Saturday 31st May 7-11pm FREE ENTRY

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you who came on Saturday night. We arrived at just gone 7pm to be greeted by Rob and the lovely Shirley, and by 7.30pm there were already folk in the room, seated and waiting for the tunes to start at 8. By 8.30pm we're not sure there was an empty table to be found in the place with travellers from Scotland, Wales, Midlands, Yorkshire, Tewkesbury, and beyond, an awesome effort for a sunny Bank Holiday weekend! So five stars it is for you guys!! 🌟 We appreciate all the lovely comments on here, and on the night, it means so much to us. As you know, we never post individual playlists, as our thinking from the outset was not about individual DJs, but the night as a cohesive whole. That said, we will look at getting an overview together of some of what got played, but please bear with us, our memories aren't what they once were. Thanks as always to Carl, who is without doubt the ultimate in all things soul, records, and lunacy - what a voice 😂 And George of course, it was so good to have him grace our night once again. Last but definitely not least, we can't forget the main man Baz, who goes above and beyond to make sure the sound system is spot on everytime, and ensures everything runs smoothly, we can't thank him enough. So, we'll see all you lovely people in December then for more of the same, Joan and Phil x
  10. There's a real buzz from all quarters for tonight, so whichever part of the country you're coming from, safe travels and we'll see you later
  11. Traditional GS ender, doesn't come much better that's for sure. Very much in the same vein as Ask The Lonely, more Detroit perfection that could very well get an airing x
  12. If anyone reading wants anything playing, post them up, and if we have them, we'll chuck 'em on! Some tunes are overlooked these days because they are much cheapness, this being a prime example. Mean and moody Chicago brilliance, love it x
  13. Venturing a little further into the 70s with this great feel good ditty. Past Bob Hinsley spin if memory serves x
