Chuck Cornish - A Tribute To Mohammed Ali
This has been a regular spin over here for over 20 years since Finewine put people onto it back then and clean copies weren't too hard to find and still in the $50-$75 range, that said as soon as picked up the Senator Jones DYLM this version became an also-ran. For real White Cliffs rarity you should look out for 242 and 239 is also a winner.

Anglo American Auction Results: 26/01/2017
The nuance that screws this up is that the price immediately jumps to the top of your bid amount even if 2nd place is a country mile behind, other auction sites don't do that as it actually then becomes a different economic model which from a buyer's perspective is totally unappealing, means takes every last penny you bid even if nobody else has any interest in the 45, no possibility of a "bargain", etc. On the flipside it's the ideal model for a seller as it extracts maximum value from all bidders every time. But as we're the buyers here it's a straight disincentive to make an initial high bid if may not be needed. Incidentally John's auctions go higher mostly as lets bidders see they've been outbid even at the "end" and then his twist to extend the auction a few more minutes each time dangles the bait psychologically and gets folks to go against their initial would-be maximum and go higher / get competitive - it's sometimes like watching the guy in the pub keep digging deeper in his pocket for more coins after already losing too much on the fruit machine. Difference between the 2 models is his needs at least two bidders to push a price up, here you can do that all by yourself. (Looking for their auction terms on the site to see/confirm the small print but not seeing any listed?.)

In that case it's my bad for not knowing that!! Seems an outdated way to do it, mostly as the price immediately jumps up to your full bid amount, so all anyone needs to do then is bid just over it right at the end, if so rather takes away any reason to do anything other than a last second bid to stop giving anyone that info and them having time to bid a fraction more.

Anglo American Auction Results: 26/01/2017
Not really doing themselves any favours with their auction system, was high bidder on one of these then got no message on being outbid or any other kind of update, meant that the 45 sold for far less than would have gone up to so not in their interest really.

Wanted: Marlene & The Debanettes - Bad Love (SUNBURST 111, 1965)
I'll have a look fella, pretty sure it's one have seen floating outside of the main stacks recently, it's a clean copy.

Wanted: Marlene & The Debanettes - Bad Love (SUNBURST 111, 1965)
Have both these releases and yes, this one is not as indemand as 114 with the uptempo flip, not sure where this one is buried at home but ping an offer by all means and could look to dig out for you

Help Does anyone know what label this is on
Have 2 copies currently but the old/spare is pretty beat so upgraded, it's a good one!

Daphinie Williams I love you
Had it, didn't think much of it, sold it, seen several at record fairs over time, fairly obscure but not a big deal

The Lost Queen Of New Orleans Soul - Manchester Show plus Recent Album Info Betty Harris
We put her on as part of a pretty ridiculous killer line-up 6 years ago along with our all-star band with even a string section thrown in - Betty even commented she'd never had a backing like it in all her years of touring

Aquamen Line & Track
It's like Groundhog Day on these pages, this was the exact topic all the way back in 2011 and everyone had already figured out even then Hirich was a boot, that was already long common knowledge over here where this was a $50-$75 record for a long time on the East Coast, had pretty wide distribution too not just confined to Pittsburgh.

New York all nighters
Hi guys, yes we put Dig Deeper on hiatus last year after 7 years of shows, will be talking later this year about what our future plans are, Matt still plays his Wednesday nights at Botanica, there are a few other events on and off too but a lot less than there used to be, it all goes in cycles so sooner or later will be more on offer for sure.

The Best Dancers In The Soul Era
Hi Roburt, have no doubt that the Precisions would be hard to beat, have heard many detailed memories from Billy Prince about the amount of work they put into their stage show, and they spent so much time with their choreographer he even appears vocally on at least one of their recordings, he himself has no footage of them either, what would we give for that huh.

Telma Laverne - Baby Don't You Leave Me -Del-La Records out of Detroit
Big fan of the BDLM side, have a M- copy here in NYC so they're not all in Europe!
-
Gene Tune - Nightwalker - Jamell
The address on this 45's label is about 50 yards from my front door, needless to say did walk my copy there once but the owners were totally bemused!
-
Willie Tee - One More Chance'
We've put dozens of artists of a certain age on stage, this isn't a young person singing, it's someone well up in years. And having met plus heard Willie Tee live back when, regardless of age this isn't him.

Don Gardner - My Baby Likes to Boogaloo (Tru-Glo-Town)
Tracked down Lewise about 7 years ago, lives not too far from here, she was then touring as a "Shirelle" but funnily didn't know any of the Shirelle songs we all like on the scene, purely an oldies circuit setlist version of the group, she remembered the record and we talked briefly about the possibility of us bringing her in when we were putting Don Gardner on stage but she wasn't super enthused about the record so never went any further.

Nelson Sanders on Rambler repro 45
Most probably happened when he saw this useless piece of tat with his name on Matt, but if not then will be an interesting conversation to ask him about the rights to his music, know you've seen him multiple times when you've been back home, wish had taken up your suggestion to see him at his long-term residency there.

Ian Levine In 1969
Funny, just sold an Eva Larse 45 last weekend, the flip of the Startown 45 is a slept on side, not the kind of artist you'd expect to have made a front cover then or now agree for sure.

Satans Breed "road Runner"jenges, Anyone Know The True Value Of This 45?
The only people who said the boots originated in the USA are people with now zero credibility so pinch of salt for now, the truth will come out soon.

Current Bootleg Trading (split from Soul Pack thread)
Read the thread - nobody has got them in any quantity to sell - there's 20 titles, 14 that appear to be known about, probably 3 or 4 people know what the others are. There are none for sale, they have never been up for sale, the people who have got them have a single copy each. If anyone wants to buy mine, let me know and I'll send you the photos. So you're not averse to making a quid off these pieces of crap after all, that's pretty choice.

C/U
All for interesting new finds that cross genres, and probably spend more on rare 60's garage than soul, but this one ticks no boxes in the least, at least now know "Big in Japan" isn't just a t-shirt slogan.

David and Ruben on WB - Unplayed copy
SOLD - thanks all
