  1. I know it was still there in 1976 as that was my only visit to the place. At some point around the same time he opened a shop in Market Street in Wolverhampton, more of an upstairs room than a ground floor shop. It was very short lived though. Of course the Birmingham shop must have continued longer, but my own experience with it the one time in '76.
  2. This usually happens when the listing is old and eBay clear the old pages (obviously not the case this time). It can also occur if the listing has breached one of their rules. Many years ago listing something like Gwen Owens or Frank Beverly was awkward as eBay clamped down on the word "wanted". Although that glitch was sorted ages ago, there may be other words that can flag an alarm. if you know who the seller is, maybe they can shed light on it. Good lluck.
  3. I feel there are quite a few of the Velvelettes TPs around, I also had one myself from Pat Brady in the nineties. I don't know why that particular title is so abundant (compared to other EMI TPs of the time).
  4. Yes, It was awful to hear of his passing, and I can't imagine how Sandi and family must be right now. Rest in peace Paul.
  5. It's only the Warner Brothers release that was chopped. The Linda orig, and then the Rampart release are both the same with the full intro. No idea why WB cut it down though.
  6. Hello there, I wonder if anyone has sent an Acetate disc from the UK to US recently, and can advise me on the following. In the description field on the CN22b form I would have normally said "45 rpm vinyl record" or similar, but with an acetate being made of aluminium coated with lacquer, would the standard record description fall foul of the customs requirements ? I'm sending it International Track and trace as a gift, so I don't need to worry about the unique tariff number this time. Thanks, Mick
  7. The only thing I can add is that he last visited this site on March 24 2025, exactly two years after the post you highlighted above of March 24 2023.
  8. That's a cracking song Mal. Just pre-ordered one for me and another for a friend. It seems in the UK it is due for release Aug 15 2025. from Kudos. https://kudosrecords.co.uk/release/ged028/derobert-and-the-half-truths-nothing-to-prove-i-would-die
  9. Hi Mike Just noticed the previous problem I had with the unreadavle thin light text on a white background when using Firefox with Win7 has been resolved. Text is now nice and dark as before, so thank you for sorting that out.
  10. So sad to hear this. My memories of Brian were mostly from the late seventies, early eighties at Birmingham Locarno and latter years of Wigan, amongst other places. Such a lovely man and such a loss.
  11. There are a few. Champion demos of Gloria Jones were in both vinyl and styrene. Also the Sandy Wynns black issues of Venus are in both. DOC copies of that song were also in vinyl. It maybe that the few vinyl titles they did were mastered at Monarch but pressed elsewhere, but I don't think I've ever heard of this happening. Others may know more.
  12. Here's the other track on the Exciters album . . . Movin'Too Slow
  13. Cheers, I'll have to check that out. I know "Turn Me On" and another track from the RCA album were good.
  14. About five or six months ago Tim Ashibende did a radio spot (possibly on a Dean Anderson show) playing album only tracks, and they were all excellent, and new to me. If the show is still online. it's well worth checkng out. Here's just one of them. The Spellbinders - That's The Way You Make Me Feel
