Mojo / Contempo label -alternative takes / mixes
Another example of a UK release being different/alternate to it's USA predecessor (or in this case even it's UK predecessor!!) is the 2004 Frank Wilson release.

Mojo / Contempo label -alternative takes / mixes
Do you mean the Grapevine 45 is actually the Gloria Barnes LP version?

King Sound Interpreters "hi Note"
Leader and guitarist was Curtis Price, a brilliant basketball player at Charleston High School. They called him 'King Curtis' (obviously not the other guy who blows a sax), hence the name King Sound Interpreters. He wrote 'You've Got Soul' and is also credited on the group's version of 'Hi Note' but that's not the case on The Fantastics 1965 version!! There's a few pieces about him on the net.

Stax or Motown what's your preference?
Motown. Only they could produce a tune like 'Suspicion - The Originals', wonderful!

Danny Monday
I'm not sure which 'repro' you mean? The 70's boot sounds the same cut as the original to me? I know the UK Kent release has an alternate vocal than the US 45...

Justis Brothers - Count On Me (Paris Tower)
Not too fussed about condition as long as it plays through with no skips.

RCA sleeves
I have the red/green psychedelic sleeve on my 'orange' re-issue of 'Man Without A Woman' so 'The Yank' is spot on! The red/black white circles one in second picture I have on a foreign RCA Victor 45 but don't know if it's correct? (I can't remember which country at moment).

Jackie Lee Darkest Days
I discussed this a year or so ago on here. To answer your question, the 'Out On The Streets' LP is the only way to get that alternate version of Jackie Lee. As far as I am aware.

COVID AFFECTED YOU ???
I've stopped ordering from the US. I had 2 fairly expensive ones gone missing! Both tracked. Stupidly ordered them when Covid was in full swing. Had to get a refund on both but I lost about £40 on the most expensive one.

Connie Clark My Sugar Baby
Just an update... Suggests what everyone thought but could just be going along with fellow Motown fans' assumption.

JMAuction - 02/03/2022 - Results!
Bobby Diamond!! Is this really in-demand again? I mean, personally I love it and bought the white demo about 10 years ago for around £25/30.

1950’s recordings played on the northern scene
Cheers for Nina Simone info. Heard Huey Smith & The Clowns being played here in East Anglia, heard it a few times and it got a release on Kent UK in 1983 so it would have been around that time. Peterborough, Norwich, Cambridge.

1950’s recordings played on the northern scene
Thought Nina Simone was 1962? Anyway, here's one I remember used to get played early 80's... Huey Piano Smith - Don't You Just Know It (1958)

Nanette Workman "This Beautiful Day"
Be interesting to hear her version, she wrote it so it stands to reason she recorded it.

Nanette Workman "This Beautiful Day"
Possibly unissued / unreleased and he had it on an acetate?

That is fantastic! If it's OK Derek I've put your info on 45cat and a link to this thread. Hope that's fine, if not please let me know and I will delete it. Here's the link to the post https://www.45cat.com/record/pxm10&rc=1152591#1152591

Flip side is a soulful ballad, not bad.

Walter Scott ( Bob Cuban )
Just reminded me of this LP which I own, great and some good Northern on it. 'Just You Wait', 'Sound Of The City', 'It's Been A Long Long Time'.

Danny Monday-Redbone.
Blackpoolsoul is correct. Danny Monday was Daniel Peil. I posted this photo and some info over on Facebook last week or so. I also posted this photo on Discogs under the Danny Monday listing... Danny Peil was vocalist in a psych/rock band during the late 60's called 'The Corporation'. They had 3 albums out during 1969-1970.
