We have missed just two Skeggy weekenders since it was first launched(excluding those at The Central which we didn't patronise) A couple of Skeggy stalwarts were missing namely Mr Skeggy himself Snowy and Tony Wiggan. Friday and Saturday nights were superb but the Saturday and most of Sunday afternoon sessions were in our humble opinion nothing short of diabolical, no continuity, no playing to the crowd, none of that unique Skeggy atmosphere, with the DJ's announcing a no request policy??? . Sunday evening catered only for new soul. We totally get that for this wonderful genre to survive the young must carry that torch, and that is a fantastic thing, but surely it's not too much to ask for those older and loyal Skeggy soulies to expect to hear some established sounds. if only for an hour during the afternoon.

Still recovering from what was a fantastic weekend at The Grosvenor for the annual Original Skegness Weekender. Firstly I would like to thank Dave & Donna, Mick & Nettie for all your hard work with putting this event together, you don't stop! After a few hours sleep Dave was in the shop brewing up and selling records whilst Mick was greeting everybody back at The Grosvenor sporting a bright yellow vest, baggy trousers the works, for a moment we thought we were at...well you know where! It was hilarious. A very friendly and knowledgeable crowd, it was lovely to catch up with friends and also be introduced to many new ones. The music was superb, the venue was stunning. It was just an all round brilliant weekend!

A big thanks to Dave and Mick for giving us young'uns a chance. It was my first go at a main room all niter but not only that was given a large timeslot in the legendary vault to play alongside the other 'young generators' which some people may see as a bit risky at such a well established event but I think we all did a great job. I hope we did you proud.

My facebook hasn't stopped since we left with notifications from pictures, comments, playlists, quotes, all positive things from such a great weekend.

Roll on next year!

Thanks to everybody, and thanks for those that took the time to come and listen to what us young'uns had to offer. Its appreciated!

See you all soon

Mike Taylor :-)

Really looking forward to another great Skegness Weekender. Last year was fantastic! I haven't visited The Grosvenor before but from what I've read and the photos I've seen it looks the bees knees. Chuffed to have been invited to play alongside the other Young Generators once again and a big thanks to all involved for giving us this opportunity!

If I don't see any of you beforehand then see you in September!!!

Mike :-)

Looking forward to this one so much, hotel booked, looking to see if anyone is going from the Manchester area who I could maybe get a lift with, will pitch in with petrol, failing that it's a 4 hour train journey which I'm happy to do but a lift would be fantastic, so cool to be sharing the Stash will be presenting unissued tracks from the likes of Josephine Taylor, McKinley Mitchell, The Sharpees, Ringleaders, 'Go On And Laugh' B/W 'Get It Together' the next release due out anytime now, an Alt take of Big Daddy Rogers -'I'm A Big Man' with an overdubbed vocal Take 4 - Midas Master, will have a few more disc dubs by then with alt takes of The Ringleaders -'Baby What Has Happened To Our Love', The Inspirations - 'Your Wish Is My Command' and others, oh I do like to be be side the seaside lol.

We are aiming to release 'Go On And Laugh' on September 23rd so all being well the big launch at the weekender, bit ring rusty me DJ wise after a long gap but this Secret Stash thing has really got my juices flowing again, just got mixes on alternate takes on The Ringleaders - Baby What Has Happened To Our Love which is slightly more down tempo than the released version and The Inspirations - Your Wish Is My Command two takes, two great tracks by Jimmie Jones and Thomas East plus some other really nice tracks which I intend to play in the Stash showcase Saturday afternoon at 4pm, really looking forward to it and can't wait to see a few old faces there.
