About The Event

The COVID-19 measures have left the Rare Soul scene littered with cancelled events and the faithful following home alone at the weekends; so the Bury Town Hall team have decided to launch a ‘virtual’ all-nighter. The show will be broadcast over internet radio every Saturday while we’re under lockdown from 20:00 until the early hours of Sunday morning.

The format will be just like a real event with a selection of DJs from previous and upcoming all-nighters at Bury Town Hall selecting their spots, carefully in order, from actual records they own to keep it real.

...and we also hope to be posting links for use with iTunes, Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real Player & Quick Time in the near future.
We hope you enjoy the show and it goes some way to filling the void and lifting your spirits

Good init? Just discussing with Simon whether us lot should '20 Deck' at the first Bury 'real' event (I don't do 'Double Decking' but 20 of us could be fun) :D

Hiya, some cracking oldies. Garnet mimms- somebody, been playing this out for a couple of years (no interest) had it sales box, same no interest (£6) sounded great tonight, well done guys, cheers

Still available,they don't have to be mega bucks,just have soul!!

Another cracker - Joe bataan- cycles. Great to hear lesser played oldies. Yep, agreed price unimportant. Most of mine are cheap but great (to me), cheers

Another good night Simon.. and increased numbers is it ?? Only wish I could manage to keep me little peep holes open for longer - manged to fall asleep somewhere around midnight, then woke again at 2.30 ish where Winsford Souls battery was running out, until around 4am

Perhaps if I don't turn up so early next week, I might last longer lol

Apologies (again lol) to those DJ's whos sets I missed, but enjoyed i'd say about 90% of what I heard - and that being down to personal preference, 'cos most others were obviously enjoying the other 10% judging by the comments being posted at the time

The warm-up hour was very much appreciated.. especially since I'd been standing outside waiting to get in to the venue since 5pm !! Ben Hope was on fire and must have a very friendly bank manager lol, Baz kept it going with more excellent spins before Ian C took the reins and treated us to a set that only Ian could provide.. eclectic and full of the desired quality. Tony Clarke was next offering another plethora of soulful ditties, mixing it up well - before I fell asleep at the end of his set !! I don't know who was on when I came back to life at 2.30 but the tunes they played for the next half hour were fantastic, and mixed together really well I thought

Gutted not to have lasted long enough to catch Chalky's set, but will listen on catch-up when posted on mixcloud

So.. 'See' you all again next week.. same place - but time a bit later (I blame my meds..) in the hope I can catch more of the fantastic DJ sets that Bury Virtual 'Niter is offering us each week.. Keep up the excellent work chaps, and thank you again for taking the time and effort to put this on.. Brilliant !!

I forgot to add.. Is it just me - or does the online interaction during the night manage to also sate, in other 'attendees,' the 'cabin fever' build up I experience due to the lockdown ?? Just wondered like..

I thought I might clear the floor a bit and send a few to sleep with some 70s 🤣Soon as I know the sequence what I played I will do a mix of the set as well. (I'd been up since 4am with work, that and the beer sent me to sleep 😂)

Great night though and superb to see so many listeners.  The crack on line top notch as well.

A great night again thanks.  It's encouraging that everyone seems to be embracing the varied styles offered up by the varied DJ's, and if a particuler tune is not to someone's liking they don't seem to mind - Nowt wrong in saying......"Not for me this one"......Whilst discussing.  That's healthy, and can be fun! Also, we all know that some tunes grow on you......"I used to hate that, but now - Wow!"........

A quick shout out to Tony Clarke, don't think I know him, but his tunes were right up my street - Thanks!

Chalky - We hadn't all fallen asleep.  Yet again (Ref real Bury) I was dancing anyway (Invoice is in the post) :wink:
