Can you identify the track?

I'm guessing called "Eyes of love" or "Looking in the eyes of love" and I'm told it comes from Detroit. There are two names on the label: Yvonne Stevens & Ralph (something - looks like it could be Woothy / Woolly / Woodly). The song sounds really familiar - was it recorded by someone else?

I have Habanera in my music library - just been giving it a listen. Of course, no wonder it sounded so familiar! Excellent - well spotted the pair of you! Much like The Toys and their use of Bach's Minuet in G major...

If you have a liking for the Bizet tune there is a really good rendition by Regina Resnick from a performance in early 60's I think. None of that 70's/modern opera rubbish.

In lieu of identities being discovered, and in honour of the views shared here, I'm thinking about naming the singer "Miss Marmite".

I thought interesting use of a great tune and to hear it in English was better than I have listened too at eno.

In other words, you haven't got a clue.

Err! Thought the cat was out of the bag on its id so never gave it another thought. It did remind me how Baby Boy on golden world stats a bit like Blue Moon tho.

The only thing I know is that I can make out one and a half names on the disc. No idea if these people are directly connected to the music or not.

If you can shed any sort of light on the track - who/where/when/what label or studio - it would be greatly appreciated...

The musicians sound a little like a few of the late '60s Detroit musicians. So, IF we find out that this recording was made in Detroit, I won't be terribly shocked. But sound can fool you sometimes, and people like Richard Tee in New York, sometimes 'simulated "The Detroit Sound" several times, very successfully. I'll be curious to find out who made this recording, and where it was made.

I think if I read correctly it is a sporting term, Darts (if you can call darts a sport). "Good arrow" as in good shot, or good one.

never mind 'good arrer' its the 'knuckle draggers' that caught my attention. Who are 'knuckle draggers'? Does that refer to anyone who does not like the same songs as you? I can't stand people with that sort of attitude...and a huge part of the reason I don't like going out much anymore...the scene seems to be full of self righteous people who slag people off for what they choose to listen to, or what clothes they wear etc

It is about time the insults, simply because someone else doesn't share the same views were knocked on the head. By all means comment on the record but why drag the conversation down by insulting anyone who doesn't care for it?

It sounds like Please Leave Drake and The Ensolids on the backing but reminds me of stuff I have on RCA like Dangerous Town.

Nice thought, except she would probably have been 12/13 when the track was recorded.
