can this whole matter not be referred to the trades descriptions act , you were promised x amount of hours soul and it wasn't delivered ....that would ensure that the matter was chased up and a refund forthcoming ...

Dave ,i think it can deffo, Breach of contract just for starters. there are also parts of the companies act that could be used to great effect

but hell no one is going to get any real answers they have been waiting all week.

the alleged forger is told hand over the readies 1k i understand, but yet when arrrested soon after the alleged forger only had a few hundred quid on him, was that money from selling gear who knows, it is also alleged that there were not 100 folks locked out but very many more ? who just chalked F@@k on it and went elsewhere i do know this happened . Some of my mates did exactly that, then we have the armband scenario very weird.

in the main lack of buisness acumen, integrity, honestly and customer care can all lead to the alleged problems & complaints

its time they treat loyal punters with a lot more understanding and care,

out with some mates last night, im told someone is running round like a headless chicken try to get names together perhaps its for ticketless tickets ...................compo jeez ..

Im afraid in Biz whilst its about making a few quid its also about customer care and taking it on the chin if the need arises and if it costs money so be it

Turns out a Mr Gary Walker was bragging off before the event that it was going to be massive as 2000 tickets had been sold (allegedly of course )

Sorry it was a drunk post. Meant to say wouldn`t go anywhere if I thought I was a customer, or that horrible word punter. After all, sheep get treated like sheep no?

Well, After all this time still no answer regarding the wristbands. Something smells a bit here and it aint fish. I didnt make it to Whitby this year but I think after all I've read on here I will not be giving any of my hard earned cash to any function run by the KRL organisation, I know that certain aspects of the scene are big business but I prefer to give my money to local promoters who do that thankless job for the love of the music and the scene. I will make an exception for a venue involving a certain North Wales resort which seems to be run a lot better and didnt attract so much negativity when reading the venue reports.

I also seem to remember that some Friday nights in the Sheffield area had been cancelled by persons unknown, it took a lot of work by the promoters to redress the balance and make sure everybody knew that the message was a malicious one. IMHO I wonder if someone has plans to take over the scene and run the whole show, from small Friday and Saturday nights to the big weekenders ? It's a shame it has come to this but I feel that someone wants to have their cake and everybody else's slice as well.

After all thats been said on here,and anyone with any sort of street smarts i think must have sussed out the real story behind it all,it wont make that much difference.

K.R. has got a neck as thick as a jockeys arse and hell keep doing what he does as long as theres a quid in it.

So long as theres a market for nostalgia based nighters and Wigan Casino lives on, and on, and on--------------and on.The Torch forever and ever and ever c.d.s its not going to stop.

If people are happy with what theyre being shovelled then so be it.

I dont doubt for one minute that if K.R. had another weekender on( By that i mean 3 soul night back to back with some afternoon sessions thrown in to give it credibility---- unlike that 24 hour a day Welsh resort) this week then people would flock to it (theres that sheep thread again)

Thank god for Lifeline ,Middleton ,Wilton,Sheridans and others who try to live up to the principles of the scene.

Well I have been away for a lovely weekend in Scarborough for my grans 90th.

I personally feel that answers arent forthcoming on Whitby & that it is time to shut the thread. Hope everyone agrees. I am also happy to reopen it, if someone has anything new to add or if Goldsoul want to post a reply.

I think my hubby will also be pleased, as he has told me the word "Whitby" is now banned in this house .
