HI BROTHERS & SISTERS, May I wish all of you the very best for 2016, & I for one am so glad to see the back of 2915, after at times feeling so ill & in constant pain,  as you may be aware I have completely neglected the thread for most of the year, more of that later, but first can I thank those of you who have kept the club running through out 2015, .

Do I need to explained the rules are so simple, 10 you must own the record on vinyl to make a posting, 20 hopefully your choice will be a 45 seldom played or new to the forum, 30 any comments made should be about the record nothing else, 4) this thread is not for selling records or for promotion of events please/

The first record of 2016 is from C L Blasthttps://youtu.be/qstR_oUoT-k  A great bit of soul my copy cost £10 but have seen it sell for £100+ HOPE YOU LIKE this 5 STAR rated 45 KTF in 2016....DAVE K

Part of the problem for me is been on the various threads from nearly the beginning I've posted most of my stuff, well without going up into the loft to find the odd thing hidden away in some dark corner. So try not to repeat tunes so only post when I get something new or feel something is relevant? What we need is a bit of new blood?

B side from me today,t'other side of Candy.

The Astors-I Found Out UK Atlantic

Staying with the Stax label this 1 has found its way on to the new CD whats just come out had this record hanging around for yonks

"The thought of me losing you"

"I just can't forget your name"

.                 "The Sun Came Out"

Being playing this today off the Soul Reggae Lp

Beres Hammond 'don't wait too long'

I should probably have put this one by Gents And The Lady in the Low Rider Scene Thread but for some reason that thread takes ages to open for me.

Funky mover from me today,I've it got on the LP but think it did get a 45 release? The LP is worth tracking down, loads of great tracks on it.

Hi All before I tell you what my record of the day, I must mention a email that was sent to me after I sent a Ebay seller what I disliked about selling the  bootlegs of Darrel Bank London Demo & issue. the email said I'm a fine one to talk as I sell speed at Soul All Nighters & he would see me the next time I was about, now I see this as a threat to myself, if this bloke wants to confront me about records fare doo's however if he wants to bad mouth me about drugs he better keep one eye in front & one eye behind him as this is what I call being a grass, & I don't like a grass or a nonce?  got that of my chest.

My pick of the day is CURBY GOGGINS - LEAVE ME IF YOU WANT TO - CARNIVAL RECORDS CAR510. A CLASSIC WITH 2 GOOD SIDES, RECOMENDED, HAVE NO IDEA OF VALUE, KTF DAVE K (1 FOR 9d 3 FOR HALF A DOLLER =2/6d THEY ARE ALL BLUE).

Class!

Had a bit of a record playing session with Dale and amongst others, this one impressed me so like Dale managed to nail one on the rarer 7'' (which is 3.40 long as opposed to the  extended 'disco version' 12'' sound clip below).

Ms Victoria Barnes 'never too late'

this was a recent blind purchase at a local thrift (charity) shop - Wade Flemons "That Other Place" - really great tune.

Whilst it will always be Big Maybelle for me, I've also got a soft spot for Jimmy Ruffin's version of '96 years' from his Ruff'n Ready  LP.

Love it and new to me.

Picked up a mint British Chess copy of this up from the Bay for a fiver.

I'm sure that the opening intro must have been sampled somewhere, such a fab riff.

Johnny Come Lately Again! :elvis:

Anyway been meaning to post this for ages but couldn't find a clip - I don't have the where with all to upload my own records, but someone just put a clip on youtube.  So, not much beats Al Wilson in my book, but, I bought this off Pat Brady back in the early 80's - he played it a few times but it was never a big spin. Fantastic cover of an Al track, and a lovely record label design too. Johnny Dean - I've Got A Feeling. Love the backing vocals on this. Ave it!

Right I've had this quite awhile now & I've grown to love it but really it's bad,it's that bad I can't believe it ever got made.........either mummy & daddy had lots of money to pay for studio time or she was shagging the label owner
