This morning I woke up in complete shock to the sad news of John Archer ( John Ar) has sadly passed away 

such a wonderful man with a great knowledge of soul 

R.I.P mate xx

so sad only in contact with him a week ago ,bought and sold records from and to him always a great guy to deal with,my thoughts are with his partner and family rip john

I only knew him through my dealings with him on Soul Source, but I found him to be a true and honest gentleman. I'm very shocked to hear of his passing.

A very sad loss. Rest in peace John.

I've noticed he was on soul source yesterday morning !! Such a shock 

he brought some records off me 2 weeks ago !!! We have had many of conversations on the phone for hours on end !! 

had many deals wiith John, great lad, so sad and such a shock , my condolences to his family & close friends

Great lad originally from Tutbury Staffs, Big lad with a big heart, he will be missed by all.

What a shock, can't believe this, been to my house loads of times talking and buying records off me.

haven't seen John for a while since he & Jackie moved down south but spoke on the phone a few times.

I am totally shocked by this news.

Christ do not believe this is posted a Lee David demo to him on Friday always replied with a message on arrival  no wonder I've not heard from him still in shock my regards to his family

Echoing everyone else's comments. Had dealings with John on a few occasions and chatted for ages. Seemed a nice guy and very shocked at the news.

Only just seen this, I had a pile parcelled up ready to go to him, sent him a message (thankfully politely) to ask if he'd changed his mind on the deal. Hard to believe we were joking about prices just a week or so ago. Said he'd spent too much on records at the weekender. A great gent of the scene, knowledgable, considerate, a great loss too early. Condolences to his family and close friends. 

Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding John Archer.  His funeral will take place on Tuesday 13th December at 12:00pm at Bretby crematorium, Burton on Trent, for anyone wishing to attend.
