:hatsoff2:WOULD YOU ADAM & EVE IT, THE MACHINE IS BACK, AS YOU MAY BE AWARE MY MANY YEARS OF LIVING THE HIGH LIFE ON THE RARE SOUL SCENE WITH IT'S ALL NIGHTERS & ALL DAYERS, ESPECIALLY BACK IN THE 1970s, WHEN I LIVED IN LETCHWORTH, MY WEEK WOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE THIS:- THURSDAY NIGHT, GO TO BEDFORD WITH MICK SMITH, FRIDAY WIGAN OLDIES BUYING & SELLING 45s IN THE BAR WITH MICK SMITH, ADY C, & PETE WID,  SATURDAY NIGHT BLACKPOOL MECCA (OR AS I USE TO SAY, GOING TO BLOCKPOOL TO SEE THE HALLUCINATONS). THEN ON TO WIGAN ALL NIGHTER, SUNDAY THE RITZ OR CAT WHISKERS OR SAMANTHAS ALL DAYERS, THEN MAKE MY WAY HOME, SO COMPARED TO SOME PEOPLE WHO LIVED IN THE NORTH, US FROM THE SOUTH REALLY HAD TO BE PASSIONETTE ABOUT SOUL MUSIC...OR BLOCKED?

SO THE LAST FEW MONTHS, MY HEALTH HAS WORSENED, WITH TYPE 2 DIABETIS WHICH HAS LEFT ME WITH 50/50 CHANCE OF LOSING MY LOWER LEGS, SUSPECTED BOWL CANCER, HEP B&C, MY ADDICTION ISSUE PLUS OTHER STUFF, ALL LEADING ME HAVING TO TAKE 47 DIFFERANT TABLETS EVERY DAY, THEN THERE WAS A ISSUE WITH MY LAPTOP SCREEN, AFTER ME PUTTING MY FIST THROUGH IT LAST jANUARY AS I WAS IN A SULKING MOOD, BUT NOW I'M BACK, AS I have no sound files for these 3, if someone could put them on for me,

However I must show you the Craig Douglas on Indian $tateside don't know how rare it is but my copy is the only one i've seen, VALUE PLEASE

AT THIS TIME I MUST THANK YOU ALL FOR KEEPING THE CLUB ALIVE, SPECIAL THANKS GOES TO MIKE & A BIG THANKS TO KEV. I HOPE TO GET HIM A PINT IF HE GETS HIMSELF DOWN TO THE STABLE, JOHNNY BEGGS GETS THERE?

SO HERE WE GO AGAIN, IT SEEMS THAT KEV MADE NO RULES FOR THIS THREAD THAT'S COOL, HOWEVER I STILL BELEIVE THAT ANY RECORD ON THIS THREAD, YOU SHOULD OWN A COPY (thats what the club is all about. picking a 45 from  your collection, it does not matter if rare, northern, beat ballard, funk, motown, or JA Soul, my preferance is rare UK SOUL & classic northern origanals).Scan_20170323.thumb.png.5c9c0462172b53224892df07625a763e.png

Heres one from me that was a massive tune hammered everywhere on the scene during the 90s.This is Doni Burdick with Candle.Previously unissued and first put out on this legit Soul King pink label around 1991.Not easy to track down a copy these days,It shares the same backing track as The Dynamics oldie.

Last one today an all time fave and perfect Northern Soul Bomb. This is The Wooden Nickels.Mine is a Vault Demo as in the clip

Never got round to spinning this yet but its a stormer i have always loved since youth club days. This has had a recent first outing as a 45 but the way to play the original has to be from the Grapevine LP or the LP below

Leo Price & Band 'hey now baby'. Mines on Hull, Simon Hunt played it on the more desirable Up Down last Saturday as part of Whitby Weekender,  at the Met Ballroom & Lounge . Nearly blew the roof off - what a reaction from the packed crowd .

:hatsoff2:HI ALL....Can I apologise for not making an entry for a few days, this is again due to my type 2 Diabetes, as I have ulcerated feet a neuropathy which is slowly and painfully crippling me, it's like walking on glass while someone hits your toes with a hammer, the last 7 days my walking has been reduced to about 10 feet, as my record room is upstairs this makes playing records a task, still unless you suffer with diabetes it is hard to empathise with those who have it!

With that tale of woe put away, well not quite, as my pick of the day is a great UK Record by Kenny Bernard, the record was discovered back in 72, by my Sage on the Soul Scene Mick Smith He played it first in the DIVE BAR HITCHIN, where Billy Mac Mick & myself would DJ on a Friday & Saturday Night, Like many of Mick discoveries he would take them to the CATS TORCH or the MECCA, it is the later that this 45 saw initial action as part of Tony Jebb's playlist, my copy is an Issue which is just as rare as the DEMO, the record is of course "Pity my Feet".....Trust me I forgot to put a sound bite on this post.

I'll have a listen tonight and choose a few...... you've already got the best two though. The others are a bit less soully and more typical NY latin.

I dunno if you're interested in re-issues but they just got some back in stock in Sounds of the Universe, cheap as chips.

Love this one at the moment - the new 'Kiss my love goodbye'? That used to be a £5 record too

Dionne Warwick 'Once you hit the road' (Warner Bros)

Here you go Hullsoul, first up the other soul influenced ones.....

The rest are more like this......

Everyone else: Sorry about all the latin, I'll stop now.
