When I look back at Soul Source going ons over the years, I think that the 'donation for flowers appeal' we had on Bob's passing on is up there as one of our finest moments

That our fund may have played a small part in both the 'preservation' and 'sharing' of his collection makes this news even more welcome

I'm sure we all love ro see an inventory of the donation. What a nice gesture from the family.

If its half as nostalgic as the motown museum, it will be well worth the trip

Was planning another coast to coast road trip across the States next year, so this my have to be on the route.

Brilliant gesture from Bob's family.  They could quite easily have sold this and made a few bob (no pun intended).

A collection that is history will now be preserved.

I just wish i could have met Bob.

In part, Bob was/is responsible for my passion in trying to find out more about artists, writers, arrangers, etc- albeit from sources like the internet & books, and US contacts (many people have now passed and geography isn’t easy).Bob didn’t need such tools because he not only had 1st hand knowledge from his radio show but the vinyl collection, and contacts galore.

there’s not a month that goes by without me listening to “sitting in the park”. P.S. Unfortunately, I wasn’t on SS when Bob passed, but it was a great thing SS and members did with the floral tribute.

Bobas collection was a joke, he had the lot, Sweet, Group Harmony Soul, which is my bag, I still, and always will, tap into his archive shows, he loved the artists, and as we know, interviewed loads of the groups on his show, especially Chicago groups, still can't believe he's gone, forget the trumpt up self serving so called BIG names, this man was in another league, we miss you Boba, R.I.P

Bob was a very nice guy. He cared passionately about Soul and helped us immensely at Soultripusa Chicago 2009. 

To me this is the ultimate gesture of a true soul family . I loved my conversations with him sometimes tempered but always well intentioned . 
He could never get his head around all the nonsense of classifying genres etc , to him it was just soul music . 
That museum now will be incredible well it already is but now mind blowing . 
His interview with Walter and the admirations always blows me away I loved sitting in the park , he brought it all to life away from a insular UK 🇬🇧 Scene . Looks like Bobs lovely family have truely respected his wishes, I’m so pleased ! 

Good news that the collection will be preserved and available for others to learn from. Makes a visit to the Stax museum ever more necessary.

How lovely, I’m so happy that Bobs blood sweat & tears are going to be treasured forever.

This is an absolutely fantasic gesture and true to Bob's generous nature.

My wife and I were lucky enough to meet him on a trip to Chicago in 2013. He was keen to take us to and explain the aspects of the city that, although not famous, were places he felt were culturally important. His passing was a huge shock and I still miss his contributions to Soul Source.

Much respect to Bob's family for making this happen.
