  • Yes, the LJH was played in the 70s, so it can't be that.    Also the Walter and Sisters, Bobby James & Herb Johnson were already well known from the 70s.

  • Thanos chalky, stuff like this helps connect the dots for those of us who weren't there. So many sounds on there I associated with others.

  • Tony Turner

Turns out it was The Registers-Sweatin'. Also played at Stafford as Stanley Mitchell-Now You've Got Me Baby and later by Roger Banks as, I think, The Kinetics Did we ever find out abut the Stella

Solid NOLA cut written by Earl King. No better than many others but still good to hear again. C.P. Love also cut the song, as did The Meters.

No surprise to see Johnny Summers in that chart, Walter and the sisters though, I didn't come across that till years later. Makes you think how you miss something like that first time around...living and learning.

Did we ever find out abut the Stella Dennison track? Also what were the E.Rodney Jones and the International GTOs?

This seems like a re-hash ( the cover-up name ) of Estelle Dennison - This Man Of Mine which turned out to be Ila Van - Can't Help Loving Dat Man

I really liked John Vincent's dj sets.

Always interesting.    Big sounds, mixed with new unknown to me records at that time.   He played things no one else was playing.

Not the record Chalky, the cover-up name...its not dissimilar do you not think?😉👍

Thb, im probably wrong on that score, Estella yes, surname not sure, Colin would answer that as he or Levine covered Ila Van up...may have Levitt or something like that...i though it was Dennison but, there you go.....bloody confusing cover ups!

I did wonder about that , but I thought that LJH was played earlier than that, late Wigan time I thought?

Was it definitely that?
