BBC drama so most have probably seen it but Blue Lights, for me, is the best Cop drama I've watched in years. Elements of classic Hill Street Blues and set in Belfast. Had me captivated from the start

  • Kin. 'kin brilliant .

I just finished 'Adolescence' on Netflix

For me, it certainly deserves all the praise it is getting, someone wrote 'brilliant and harrowing'

Review below, though would suggest to take the time out to watch all 4 epsiodes first

Just watched this and enjoyed it.  I think it needs some kind of 1 episode prequel to explain some of the subject content.

friends have enjoyed it and thought it wasn’t very good in equal measure so it a marmite show.

I've just binge-watched A Cruel Love on ITVX - about Ruth Ellis, the last woman in England to be hanged. Definitely recommended - it's well worth watching - she should never have faced the death penalty at all.😢

When they see us on Netflix is good based on a true story

I recently learnt she was the grandma of a famous actor who has been in lots of things including coronation street

Watched the first episode on Monday, can’t wait for the next one. Defo a thumbs up from me 👍🏼

I find Mobland too tongue in cheek I'm afraid. I didn't rate This City is Ours either.

People really need to watch Quarry.

We’ve been really enjoying Dope Thief on Apple.

Two guys masquerading as DEA agents to take cash/ drugs off of unsuspecting dealers then pull their stunt on the wrong people and things start to go very wrong very quickly.

Hi Richard

It's been a while my old friend. Not so bad here thank you. I hope all is well with you.

I presume you're referring to my recommendation regarding Quarry?

Yes Pete, I have watched it twice! Once when it was first shown, and then when I had a mate crashing on my sofa - he loved it too!

Hope you're well, I have left sunny old Bassingfield so I'm afraid we are no longer neighbours.

Stay well,

Richard

Anyone recently watched, Mending The Line. on netflix ?

Thought it was a good watch

Just finished Landman. Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter superb.

Just finished The .Art of Joy on Sky Atlantic, Italian series about a girl who will do anything to get what she wants. Set around the time of the first world war. We enjoyed it.

Just watched part 1.  Deaf subtitles should be optional not mandatory.  They were too intrusive and are only helpful if you need them.

it looks like iPlayer solves this so all good. 👍

I found the "subtitles on - sound off" option made it a whole lot more bearable but still had to call it a day after twenty minutes ... 😂

He's got to be the lamest , unfunny 'actor' on the planet , this is one I shall be avoiding like an pub oldies night with cheap beer and a buffet thrown in ...

MARCHING POWDER You were right mate, the best bits were in the trailer. A pub oldies night would have been more fun.

Net flix ,"Adolesence"  Absolutely harrowing , study of Knife crime motivation in UK youngsters ,starring Stephen Graham ,  Superb ,Breathtaking watch.

Hardhitting TV the young kid was fabulous. Graham rarely disappoints and he didn't here surely an award on it's way for this.

I watched The Night of the 12th last night - in French with easy to follow subtitles. Based on a gripping true story & well worth watching - it's available on Channel 4 catch up. Definite 👍 from me.

Very much enjoyed Kathryn but you could have said it was a film not a series, we assumed it was going to continue, hooked and ready for episode 2 ,credits rolled then nothing 🤣🤣, as you say well worth a watch.

Sorry - my mistake! I'll remember for next time xx

Is anyone watching Malpractice? It's a brilliant, well-acted drama series on ITV - about the stresses & strains felt by NHS staff to meet targets etc. Another 👍 from me!

Started watching 'The Agency' on Paramount+

It's an english language  remake of a French series - 'Le Bureau des Légendes' (also on Paramount +) - that came out a few years back and which is one of my top 5 TV shows of all time

Well worth a watch and Michael Fassbiende is pretty good in the lead role. But IMHO, the french original is better.

Just finished binge watching Code of Silence - Rose Ayling-Ellis played an absolutely brilliant part! She really brought deafness into focus - well worth watching to see the problems that deaf people face every day & how they can overcome them. I worked mostly with hearing children for over 20 years, but occasionally we had a deaf child - & also hearing children with deaf parents. I was always interested in signing - I picked up a bit as I went along but never learnt it formally. Thumbs up to ITV for a decent drama!👍

Currently watching Memento Mori a Spanish Walter presents, serial killer on the loose, lead actor has me convinced, I tense up every time he's on the screen. Think there's going to be an interesting twist somewhere along the line or maybe one line of dialogue was a red herring?

I'm watching Under the Banner of Heaven - released in 2022 but now available on ITVX - a harrowing, disturbing drama based on a true account of events in 1984 USA. It involves - violence - murder - sexual abuse - incest - all supposedly in the name of "religion".........

A gripping, but very disturbing story.

Thanks - I've already looked - makes me feel glad I've never got into religion!

I was slightly disappointed Kathryn to find that Jeb Pyre was a fictional character as was the other detective, can't remember his name. Still a gripping tale though.
