I was just pondering what 60’s tunes are out there regardless of geography, value, raritie, could quite easily sit well in the shrine label catalogue,I’ve always felt this label has a unique sound,a bit messy here and there, but real and raw!

I think this belter could have sat well on the label!

This sounds like the ones on the Shrine label (to me anyway!) it’s got that raw sound and sounds like an expensive record! Hitch

regarding "Shrine" like a lot of labels you maybe need to think of the studios (Edgewood?), arrangers, producers, musicians, writers  etc. to get a common 'sound'.

Shrine, late 60's,        Raynoma, Eddie, late 50's, their musical influences added?

when you listen to Andy Rix's interview with Eddie Singletary's interview (over to Kark W) you will see some , links

I dont think there is any Shrine connection but the horns in this ballad sound pretty shrine-ish to me:

I always thought this was a Shrine recording (albeit not issued until after the label closed).

I listened to the Andy Rix Interview last week, with Sidney Hall, and Sidney stated that track was cut pre Shrine, produced by Robert Bateman, who thought they were a girl group on introduction, you will have to listen to the interview... Kenny Lewis, Max Kidd, Sidney Hall YES! Shrine NO...
