Guest
I won't lie, I'm quite the novice when it comes to northern soul. But I heard a DJ playing a track in my local boozer last Sunday and it's been stuck in my head all week. It contains the lyric "My collar gets a little bit tighter, My eyes get a little bit brighter". Anybody have any idea what the tune is? Keamus
One of the records that I loved when I first got into Northern. Played it off an ABC compilation LP called "Out on the Streets Again". Link to comment Social source share
BrianB
Bunny Sigler for me. Far and away the best version in my humble opinion of course. Apart from Chains of Love and Hand It Over I've never really taken to Chucks voice. Whats With This Loneliness is Ok but his voice is too raspy and aggressive for me. My Top 3 favourites from Mr Jackson: Good Things Come To Those Who Wait Have You Heard About The Fool Millionaire Regards , Dave www.theresthatbeat.com www.hitsvillesoulclub.com Hi Dave, Sorry I couldn't meet up at Rolls Royce. Did my back and couldn't move! No problem at all with Chuck's material, most of it top class. Its the voice I'm not over keen on at times. I'm a bit the same way with Roy Hamilton (thats me dead!), in that he seems too professional and "stagey" at times on some of his material. Hope you enjoyed it back in Blighty! Each to their own but for me CJ is one of the best male vocalists you can get, but then I like great big vocals over blowsy orchestration. The first time I heard hand it over I thought I d died and gone to heaven. I love em all and it was great to see him do Girls Girls Girls live at Northampton, it was absolute class. x Link to comment Social source share

My Top 3 favourites from Mr Jackson: Good Things Come To Those Who Wait Have You Heard About The Fool Millionaire Regards , Dave www.theresthatbeat.com www.hitsvillesoulclub.com Hi Dave got to agree 'Good things' one of my all time favs. Any Day Now was Mrs B's favourite ( when she was still Miss G!!). Les Cokell swapped my copy for the Sapphires - Gotta Have your love stating 'I can get you another CJ but where am I going to get this?' ( took it to the Wheel that night, the rest is history). Anyway I hear you managed to clear the floor at St Bernadettes the other Saturday!! (now, who said DJing was easy?) Julian Link to comment Social source share
