Have always preferred the other side! "Hey, Bobby!" "Yes, Charlie?" "What colour's that thing, man?" "That thing is green..." "You sure, man? Who told you, man? &#

I'm sure you're right. I wasn't looking to justify or "up" the price - just recalling what I thought I'd seen this on offer at...

I have a copy of it, but have never seen it on any playlist and have never played it out myself.

Never played because you don't think it fits a dance floor? What genre is it, soul or funk or what?

Haven't really had the chance to play it out, plus it sounds a bit messy to my ears.

Here's a soundclip:

I've never heard that before. I've heard a lot worse played out. Similar stuff to this used to be played out in the late seventies early nineties.

I think it may have got a spin or two at Stafford?

If i remember rightly, Gaz Kellett recommended it to me in the mid/late 80's!

There's a funky dancer on the B side too!

Sorry for the blatant plug (well, no I'm not really :D ) but there's one on me site www.soulmusic.co.uk/rarities.htm

Cheers

plug where you can, that's my motto Steve(see previous post  ).

It's well-known (and cheap) on the funk scene, definitely funk as opposed to northern.

Played this a few times at the Hip City here in Berlin in the past. I like it too (obviously), a tad messy indeed. But great in a way, IMO.

Yes good old Gaz recommended it to me years ago at Westhoughton CC.

Got one somewhere or may have sold it - have tried it out a few years ago but didn't really do owt.

Not a bad tune though

Rudzy had a box full of this 45, all us coalville lads had one, & Kev C was right, it went down well at NMD

As pomonkey says, well-known funk cheapie. Never played that much there either though!

Steve Johnston played this at Coalville west end another one of Steve's great breakthroughs regards Simon.

Just noticed this thread is five years old!

Is this 'in demand' yet? If it is, I'll dig my copy out and flog it!

"Hey, Bobby!"

"Yes, Charlie?"

"What colour's that thing, man?"

"That thing is green..."

"You sure, man? Who told you, man?

"I'm telling ya, that thing is green!"

Love it!

Been played also down south about 8 years back ( if not before ), think i, first heard Steve C play it at the Bmth Railway club, ive also played the flip on the odd occasion, still like it a lot and ive a spare kickin about somewhere

Yes Steve C.Sure that's where mine went.6 years maybe?

played it out a few times but very low muffled recording, albeit a great tune

Have a copy for sale if interested. Played this back in the 70s, a bit messy is a good description, but it does have something about it.

What's the value on this now ?regards Simon.

If memory serves me well, I've seen this offered by Pat Brady at £75...

Usually goes for much less than that though...

there's one on Discogs now for £9.99.

£8.95 on MusicStack.

£30 from Jazzman.

£30 from Pete Smith etc.

All of them unsold.

£10-£20

Thank you.
