My mate rang me up last week, he was selling what was left of his collection. Unfortunatly, a certain Dobson had got all the good stuff a few years ago, still, managed to get:

Silhouettes - Goodway

Sandy Wynns - Simco

Frank Beverley - Gamble

Ringleaders - M-Pac

And off ebay , just under £20 Soul Shakers - I'm getting weaker

Yeah, Silhouettes is a great record got the LP & single now, LP's knackered but looks good on the wall though.

I remember him having something on La Beat, but didn't know if it was Al Williams or Lester Tipton, turns out it was both, wouldn't have been able to afford 'em though even if Butch hadn't had them.

Still a few nice things left, but I'm skint now though.

Cheers

Some nice stuff there. Galdys Knight has been one of my all timers for many years. I bought a copy many moons ago at the YMCA Allnighters in Glenrothes, Fife only to find when I got it home it had snapped, I was distraught! I thankfully managed to repair it and it plays fine, What a great tune!!!!

Its on my wants list that one. I absolutely love it. It has very haunting quality to it if you know what I mean. A similar vibe to the Maurice Jackson version of 'Lucky Fellow'.

Dells - It's All Up To You - Cadet

Latimore - Somethin' 'Bout 'Cha - Glades

Isaac Hayes - Wonderful - Enterprise

You can see I like cheapies from the 70 and early 80s.

Definitely the best version.

I have both versions of Why,Why,Why, Mill Evans and the Otis Leavill. I have always thought the Mill Evans to be brilliant, with Otis Leavill being good but not in the same class as Mill Evans, who is King on this one!!
